As the day pushed through, Naruto made his way to the main battlefield. He encountered the reanimation of Nagato, where Itachi appeared to defend.

He was surprised at the sight of the living Itachi himself, wondering why he had made his presence.

Killer B thought he was the enemy and was ready to attack when Naruto defended him.

"What are you doing here?" Naruto asked him.

"This is a war. Everyone is involved." Itachi stated, "I can't just stand back when my home village is involved."

Naruto's eyes widened as he processed the word's Itachi spoke.

He always saw him as a villain, never imagining he would arrive to aid Konoha after hearing he was still alive.

The four men Kyoko worked with forced her to get medical attention, leaving her with Sakura as they moved toward Madara.

Shizune cleaned out Kyoko's cut before bandaging it. She felt sympathy for her and all the other shinobi, seeing how they are fighting relentlessly.

She can see the exhaustion in her face but knows that she has to continue anyway.

She smiles at her as she pats her shoulder.

"Fight hard."

Kyoko nods her head and thanks her as she is standing to leave. She stops and turns back to Shizune, speaking to her in a whisper.

"Your eye? Which one?"

Kyoko turned around fully and walked closer to Shizune. She removed her headband and moved aside the hair that covered her left eye.

"This one."

Shizune's mouth dropped as she looked into the eye Kyoko spoke of.

Several months ago

Every day after Kyoko received the scar on her left eye it causes her pain. It pulses and sometimes interferes with her tasks but she continues, believing it is due to the scar.

The continuous use of her cursemark has been putting a strain on her eye, as if she uses her eye when using her mark.

When Lady Tsunade removed the power of the cursemark the pulsing didn't leave. Kyoko could no longer use the power she had just managed to master, but her eye seemed to hold something still tied to it.

Back to the present

As Shizune stared at her eye she remained silent after Kyoko repeatedly asked what she saw.

She moved away from Shizune to look at her reflection and saw that her eye looked like that of the reanimations.

The white of her eye was black while the iris was her natural color.

Fear immediately swept over her as she had no idea what was happening.

"Shizune-san, what is this?"

"I...I don't know."

The two were under immense shock. Neither knew what to do as Kyoko was the one with the most fear.

The only person who can give me an answer to this isn't with us anymore. What did Orochimaru-sama do to me?

Anger was filling Kyoko to the reminder of Orochimaru's lies to her.
