Jackie's pov.

I cannot believe Micheal agreed to play this game. But it worked. Chase saw us, and didn't say hello to me anymore. It was going well, which is very hard to believe. We actually act as a couple, kissing and everything, but mostly only when Chase is around. What really bothers me, is that I really wish it weren't all just a game.

Several weeks have passed since Chase came back, and I am just about ready to kill someone already!!! He would follow me to all of my classes and wait after class across the hall. He always only stared, but it was still creepy, and two weeks ago, he started following Elia, too.

I'm not worried about myself, but if he dares touch Elia I will kill him!!

"Jackie, watch out!!!" I felt a sharp pain on my face as a basketball hit me square on the nose.

"Oww!!" I screamed, holding my nose as it bled. "What the hell!!!"

"YOU BASTARDS!!! NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO HER NOSE YOU IDIOTS!!! GET THE FUCK OUT, NOW!!!" Elia screeched at the seniors who had hit me. She was already kneeling beside me, holding the end of her WHITE jacket to my bloody nose.

I looked at her face as she swiped away the blood. Her face was red (as red as her caramel colored skin could get), and she was breathing hard, her hand shaking from the anger and fear.

Elia doesn't like seeing people get hurt, and doesn't like the thought of the people she really cares about getting hurt. So as she wiped the blood off my nose, I saw some tears gather up in her eyes. She grumbled to herself.

"Ja-jackie you really need to wa-watch what's going on around you. You woul-wouldn't be hurt if you were. What-" she gulped as she struggled to speak to calm her nerves. Really, shouldn't I be the one tearing up?

"What were you thinking about that kept you so distracted?" She finally managed to say without stuttering. I shrugged, then hissed as she put more pressure on my nose.

"Sorry!! I didn't mean to hurt you." she apologized, wincing as well. She helped me up, and we went to the restroom to wash the dried up blood from my face. After washing my face, I turned to her, deciding I would tell her my homocidal thoughts.

"I was actually thinking about killing Chase if he ever touched you." I confessed, glaring at a tile on the floor.

"Why would you do that?" She asked, and I looked up to her confused face. I looked at her, dumbfounded.

"Haven't you noticed him following you?" She stayed silent for several seconds, then realization dawned on her face.

"Oh, so that's who was following me!! I always thought it was just some random guy, but it was actually Chase!!" I mentally facepalmed. I swear, sometimes she seems like she should be the blonde, not me.

"Well, duh!! And if he touches you I swear I'm gonna rip his guts out of his body and hang his eyes from his--"

"Okay, Jackie, calm down. You know what? You need a distraction. My birthday is coming up, and I didn't really want to throw a party, but we both obviously need a distraction. So...what do you think? You want to come to my party next weekend?" she asked, giving me a joking smile.

I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Like you even have to ask. I don't have a life, it's perfect!!" We walked out, and headed to lunch. Elia was already bursting with excitement, considering this was going to be the first year in five years that her birthday fell on a Saturday.

"Hey Elia, hi Jackie- OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR NOSE?!!" Amy screamed, staring horrified at me. Elia narrowed her eyes in annoyance as Amy grabbed my arm and dragged me to our table, forcing me to sit down. Everyone gasped and started asking questions, until Elia screamed at them to shut up. I gave her a nod, thanking her.
