Royals vs. Rebels

Elia's pov

I laughed as Jackie danced down the halls, and started doing the same. We danced passed the 5SOS, not even caring that we probably looked like weirdos to them. At least I didn't. Luke chuckled a little as I passed by, and I laughed a little more.

Suddenly, something caught my eye. I stopped, but Jackie didn't notice and danced away. I peeked into the dark room, and saw Ariel and Jasmine kicking Audra's ass. I wanted to step in, but I didn't have the courage. Like always...

I was about to walk away when I heard them say our names.

"You're pathetic, Audra! Letting the two biggest nobodies get the best of you!! You're as pathetic as Elisa and that Jecky!!" Ariel said as she kicked Audra's stomach. Then Audra said something I never thought she would do.

"It's not Elisa and Jecky! It's ELIA and JACKIE!! If you're going to insult them-"

"Shut up, you pathetic fool!!" Jasmine said and kicked at Audra's head.

I couldn't take it any longer. I don't know what I was feeling inside me, but it kind of hurt to see them do that to her, especially for defending us for once. I finally did the one thing I never thought I would do.

I yelled at them to stop.

"STOP IT!! LEAVE HER ALONE!!" I ran at them and pulled them off of her, standing protectively infront of her. I realized what I was doing, and began trembling in fear, myself. I tried not to show it, and clenched my fists together to keep them from shaking.

What am I doing? I can't fight them alone, it's two versus one. I'm going to be in serious trouble! Oh, Jackie, why didn't you notice I was gone like you usually do? Ugh, I'm going to die!!! I thought, almost screaming as I saw Ariel and Jasmine advancing. But I stood my ground, I had to protect Audra. I closed my eyes as they jumped at me, but their fists never came.

I opened my eyes...and saw Jackie on top of Ariel, with Jasmine pulling on her hair. Jackie was wrenched off Ariel, and Jasmine punched her repeatedly, dropping her on the ground.

Without thinking, I jumped at Jasmine, pulling her off my best friend. Jackie jumped Ariel, and I took care of Jasmine. We kicked their ass, and left them groaning on the floor, both of them holding broken noses.

"Next time, I won't go easy on you!" Jackie said with a smirk. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head, and I smiled.

"Pass it on to your little posse won't you?: Don't mess with the Rebels." Jackie looked at me oddly, and I winked at her. She got the message, and went along with it.

"We will rise, and your reign of terror will fall under the Rebels. Bewarned, and warn the others, sweet Angels." We helped Audra up, and she looked at us with surprise on her face. As we walked to the nurse's office, she asked, "Why did you do that for me? I only hurt you, and you guys help me? I'm not a member of the Royals anymore, so defying my punishment will only make you a target to the Royals-"

"Hold up a sec, Royals? I thought you were the Angels?" I said, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion. Audra looked at me with fear in her eyes.

"They changed their name as soon as I told them what happened and they threw me off the group. They said they didn't want to be associated with me, a failure of a leader, and said they will rule the school as royalty, so they named themselves The Royals."

We got to the nurse's office and the nurse told us to leave and to get to class. It was already seventh period, and Jackie and I didn't really want to go to P. E. I know, I know. You still have P.E.? Well, we had already done most of the electives, but the easiest, to me, was P.E.. I didn't like the coach, and Jackie didn't like the class. Sighing, we headed to the gym, and continued the day.
