If You Wanna Be Loved

15. Kansas

It was the day of the trip, I was double checking to make sure I had everything packed. I was meeting everyone at the airport. By everyone I mean Sam, Colby, Corey and Jake. I was excited for this trip, it would be nice to film again with everyone and travel somewhere new.

I locked my door and headed down to the Uber waiting for me outside.

At the airport I followed the signs until I saw Corey jumping and waving at me. I smiled and walked over to everyone who greeted me. "How'd you sleep? We all barely slept" Sam said with a groan. It was currently only 5am. "I slept okay, but I'll probably sleep a little on the plane" I said.

We all stood around and talked for a bit, me and Colby didn't really make eye contact much. I had a feeling this trip was going to push us back into the friend zone a little more, just because all his friends were going to be around for a week. That was okay though, I was excited to just have a fun trip with everyone.

Our plane boarded at 5:30, and we all had seats next to each other. It went Sam, Colby, me, then across the isle it was Corey and Jake. I took the isle seat so I could film a little.
I filmed as we were waiting to take off, everyone was all excited.

Once the plane took off everyone got situated with their phones and headphones. I put my earbuds in my ears and shuffled one of my playlists. I sighed and closed my eyes, trying to relax myself to go to sleep. I had to remind my sleepy self that I couldn't fall asleep on Colby, even though my brain was so used to that being an okay thing. I laid my head back and eventually fell asleep.

I was asleep for over an hour when I was suddenly jolted awake. I looked over to see Corey and Jake holding onto their stuff that was on the little tables in front of them, and I realized the plane was shaking. I shot up and ripped my headphones out. Suddenly the pilot came over the speaker.

"Attention folks, we are hitting some weather at the moment and it's a bit bumpy. Do not panic, in about ten minutes we should clear the storm. Until then make sure everything's packed away and secure somewhere. Sorry for the inconvenience."

I looked over at Sam and Colby who were looking outside, and I leaned over and saw big lightening strikes shooting through the sky. I grabbed my phone and hit record. "Guys I'm recording" I said.

They both looked at me. "So we're currently on our way to Kansas and this is happening..." Sam said. He pointed out the window and I zoomed in. "Literally the plane is shaking" Colby said and I zoomed out and panned around the plane, and when I got to Corey and Jake Corey was looking at me with a blank face holding his bag. "It's like an earth quake in the sky" Jake yelled over.

"This is actually really freaky" Sam added, looking back out the window. I zoomed out the window one more time before turning off my phone. I sat back and put my headphones back in, and we all waited out the storm while we rocked back and forth in our seats.

The rest of the flight was smooth, and when we finally landed I was glad to get up and stand. We made our way out and went to baggage claim to wait for our bags.

"I just want to sleep for like 3 more hours" Corey yawned as he collapsed on a chair. I went and sat a chair away from him. "I feel you dude" I said.

We waited a good twenty minutes before everyone got their bags and we stopped at the Starbucks in the airport so we could get some caffeine. We then Went to the car rental place and got the SUV, and Colby got in the front to drive.

"Kara you can sit up front" Sam said as he went to hop in next to Jake, and Corey climbed in the back. I didn't object and I hopped in the passenger seat, looking over at Colby who was already smiling over at me. I gave him a smile and reached for my seatbelt.
