part four

"Jesus Christ, I'm gunna kill that piece of shit," Daphne grumbled as she and Nancy threw themselves into the trailer, "I mean, who does he think he is? Karate Kid?"

"Who?" Dustin asked, oblivious as Steve, Robin and Erica hadn't filled him in.

"Jason," Nancy sighed as she sat down exhaustedly. "He's looking for you guys."

"I told you!" Lucas cried, glancing around. "It's like a witch hunt."

"A bit more than a witch hunt when Cinderella is buying guns." Daphne spat, throwing her bag on the floor. Dustin gulped slightly at the thought, Eddie sighing harshly as he let his head hit the wall.

"Should have seen Daphne," Erica chuckled to herself, "She was like a damn rocket up his ass."

"Hey, he's not gunna do shit, he's a jumped up jock with money." Steve grimaces as he gets into the front seat, Robin goes to open her mouth as he turns to the group. "And before you start, Robin, I'm not talking about me." Robin's mouth closes as Daphne stifles a laugh.

"Can we just go before they see us?!" Dustin yells, Steve slamming the gas as Daphne tries to make her way to the front seat, launching herself in just before she flies backwards.

"Sit down!" Steve shouts at Daphne as she thumps down, her eyes wide as she hears him raise his voice at her in panic. "I'm sor— I'm sorry okay, I got, I got panicked." He realised his mistake as he received her glare.

"Mhmm," she hums, folding her arms as she looks out the window.

"Come on, don't be like that," He mutters to her as he watches her sulk. "I didn't want you flying back and knocking yourself out... again." Daphne gasped.

"I can't believe you're using that against me!" She mused, unable to keep a straight face as Steve chuckled to himself, shaking his head.

About twenty minutes later, the group decided to stop off somewhere remote to prepare. Which Steve parked up far into an abandoned field where it looked like no one would attend.

They all had their groups; their role to play in defeating Vecna. Max would go to the Creel house, goading him into attacking her, with Lucas and Erica in tow to give the signal, keeping a close eye on her. Dustin and Eddie would go to the Upside Down and distract the army of bats, making as much noise as possible. And then Daphne, Steve, Robin and Nancy would go to the Upside Down Creel House. They would wait for the clear, and find Vecna, killing him while he attacks Max and is out of his body.

It had to work, right?

Daphne got to work hammering nails into a bat, which Steve told her worked really well as he's used one before. The older Henderson proceeded to tease him about how unprepared he was by not bringing it, and if she hammered her finger he would need to take her to hospital and explain.

While Nancy and Max prepared the guns, Steve and Robin preparing their petrol bombs, and Daphne closely watching Eddie and Dustin as they play with their bladed shields.

"How's it feel?" Dustin asks Eddie, the long haired boy standing up and waving it around purposefully.

"Light. But durable." He mumbles, aiming it at an imaginary enemy. "Deadly... But reliable."
