part three

"Dustin— Hey, Dustin," Daphne shakes her brother's shoulders as his lip quivers, both terrified for their friend. "Find me something, we're not leaving him in there, get me something to get up there with."

Dustin nods to his sister, both frantically looking for something, anything, to get them to reach it. Dustin grabs a chair, pulling it to the middle of the room and going to stand on it.

"I don't think so," Daphne scoffed as she stepped up on to the chair.

"Be careful!" Dustin hissed, knowing fine well arguing with his sister would mean more time lost. Although, he knew she couldn't stop him from following her into there.

Daphne's hands only just met the edge of the gate, a slimey yet textured feeling of the rot seeping into her fingers as she gripped tightly. The older Henderson took a huge breath as she mentally prepared herself to pull herself into the world she desperately never wanted to see again.

Although, she does, and as soon as her body enters the space, she flips onto her back once again, winding herself, once again.

All the while, grunting and groaning, as she crawls to the door and pulls herself upright, coughing loudly as she hunches over. Daphne's eyes widen as blood splatters from her throat.

"Oh fuck," She mumbles, turning her head as her brother's groans enter the atmosphere around her. "Dustin—" Daphne coughs again, further splatters of blood coating her hand, "Stop!" She cries, hoarsely. But he doesn't listen.

Dustin fell to the floor, a crunch sound echoing followed by a scream of pain from Dustin.

"Shit!" She shouts, throwing herself down next to him as he rolls around letting grumbles slip from his mouth, his eyes scrunched in pain. "Dustin, can you walk?!"

Dustin nods, pushing the pain to one side as his sister helps him up.

"Go, you need to go and find Eddie! I'm right behind you!" Dustin orders his sister as she glances to his leg, him limping as he holds himself against the wall.

"I can't—"

"THERE'S NO TIME!" Dustin cried, and Daphne nodded, there was no time.

The older Henderson collected herself as she turned towards the door, picking up her bat in the process, opening it harshly and running out.

Daphne stopped briefly to look around, panic overtaking her brain as she struggles to think of what direction to go in. Until she hears what she can only describe as whooshing and squawking.

Her head turned quickly, watching as a swarm of creatures swirl in the distance.

Eddie.

Daphne's feet sprinted before her head had chance to tell them, running as fast as she could towards the danger with the only thought in her head being that she had to get to Eddie.

"Eddie!" Daphne cried, the wind from the bats whipping at her face as she came closer, "Oh my God, no,"

Daphne's stomach dropped as the scene came into view.
