A/N: Sorry it took so long! I kinda forgot about the story for a hot minute! Lol

Ocarina needed some time to prepare, seeing as how this task would take up most of his energy. Twilight was half transformed. Still a hylian though he had the wolf-like ears and tail out. His ears perked up with each movement his elder made, his eyes never leaving his figure. His head kept moving side to side as he observed Ocarina walking back and forth. He cocked his head to the side curiously now as his tail wagged gently. "Rina..what are you doing?" He finally asked. "I'm getting ready, trying to prepare."

"Can't you..prepare faster?"

"Do you want your little elf back?"

"Well yes.."

"Then let me focus." Twilight looked down as his ears pinned back. "I'm sorry, sir.." Ocarina looked over at him and his gaze softened. A soft warm chuckle left his lips as he walked over and scratched behind the younger hero's ear. "I'm sorry, my pup. This is just a very complicated ritual. I didn't mean to scold you..you must really love him, huh?" He smiled as Twilight turned away, a red hue tinting his cheeks. "Hylia..yes, I do.." He muttered under his breath. Ocarina laughed before turning away and sighing. "Must be nice. I certainly don't have anyone anymore..but maybe someday. You never know where you will encounter your love, it can be anywhere..even in the shadows." He rambled a bit before pausing. "Rina..you okay?" Twilight asked with a hint of concern laced in his tone. "Yes, I'm ready now." With that he walked over to the sleeping boy and placed a hand on his forehead, attempting to not wake him. He closed his eyes and began muttering a few words in what sounded like a foreign language. Twilight' eyes widened as he stared intently at the light that seemed to come from his mentor's hand. One by one the memories began returning to Wild. Due to his sleeping state, they returned to him as if they were dreams. How they met, the fights, to when they slowly became acquainted, until finally he arrived to the most recent. Thunderblight. Wild's eyebrows furrowed as he began to hyperventilate. He twisted and turned in his unconscious state. Twilight looked down at him worriedly, his tail tucking between his legs. "Rina..is he okay?? What's happening??" He whisper-yelled. "He's fine..I'm just giving the terrible memories back..he's basically having a nightmare." Twilight Link nodded and whimpered softly. He didn't want Wild to re-experience that gory battle but he knew there was no other choice. He couldn't keep it from him forever. After the ritual had finished, Ocarina pulled his hand away and sat back. He swayed a bit as his eyes lidded. He began looking a bit pale. "Pup, I must get going now. I've been drained so I need to go to my realm in which I now reside to regain my strength. I'll be watching over you." The wolf boy whined, kneeling down and hugging him tightly. "Why did you have to go..I was so lost without you..I'm still lost..I'm never gonna be ready to be without you..please..don't leave again.." He mumbled as his eyes filled with tears.

"Pup..I have no choice..but look at me.." He lifted his student's face to now make eye contact with him. "I was given this chance..this gift to hold you again, and now I can finally say how proud I am of the man you've become..you are very precious to me, if I had it my way..I would stay with you till the end of time but I can't. You are strong to have endured so much..so you will be fine. You don't need me anymore. Our chapter is over..you must keep flipping the pages, for you have a new story with your beloved..you'll be okay. Now..I must go.." Ocarina slowly began fading as small light particles appeared around him. Twilight;s eyes widened as he attempted to hold onto his mentor. "No..please..Rina..? Rina! Don't go!" He began to panic as the elder faded more and more. The wolf boy tried to grab at him but had begun to phase through his body. "No no no! I need you! Come back!" Ocarina smiled one last time at his student. "I love you, pup.." He whispered. Eventually he was completely gone. Twilight looked around desperately as his body trembled. He looked up at the sky as he gripped the ground below. "RINA!" He cried out, his voice echoing throughout the forest before he began to cry. The only sound that filled the night was the sobs of the Hero of Twilight.

The next morning, Twilight woke up feeling groggier than normal. His eyes were red and puffy from crying nearly all night. He looked over at Wild who was still sound asleep and sighed, now slowly standing up. He walked over to the nearby river and began to wash up. He stared at his reflection in the water after he had finished his routine before swiping it to have the liquid ripple. He decided to go on a walk until Wild woke up. He had waited so long for the little elf to come back to him and was getting impatient once again. He stared up at the clear blue sky and glared. "Damn it! Wake up already...who am I kidding..it probably didn't work.." He muttered before stopping in his tracks. He felt so alone. He had watched two of the people he loved most either die or disappear in his arms. He wanted at least one of them back.

He eventually began to head back to the campsite, since he had been away for an hour or two already. He stared at the ground, kicking a few stones over as a soft sigh left his lips again. He was too lost in thought to register the sound of rapid footsteps coming towards him. He then felt a force hit against his stomach and chest as arms wrapped around him. He gasped and yelped before his eyes widened.

"Twilight..I..I'm sorry for leaving..I didn't mean to disappear in the desert...I.." Wild rambled as muffled cries were heard since he had his face buried in the other's chest. Without hesitation, Twilight wrapped his arms around the smaller boy tightly. "Shut up..dumbass..I don't care about that..I'm just happy you're back.....I'm never letting you go.." He murmured.

"Hylia..you idiot..don't ever leave me again.."
