Chapter Two:

Lucas was beginning to pace. He was picking up Hayley from school so he could drive her to her first ultra sound appointment. He looked to his watch where was she? She would not have forgotten that today was the day would he. He stood at his car door, debating to sit back in the car and wait or to go and ask at reception. If she was not here soon he would be likely to run into the school himself to make sure nothing had happened to her.

Hayley had just finished downing the two litre of Lucozade which she was told that she was supposed to drink before the ultrasound. This was something Hayley was sure she was thinking this right she had a chance of developing Diabetes while she was pregnant as it was in her family history so after the ultrasound they wanted to do some form of blood test. It was still a little overwhelming for her if she was honest all she knew was she had been told to drink it and now she really needed to pee.

She looked at the clock, Shit, she was late; Lucas was probably doing his nut in already.  Knowing her Husband she was sure that he would be walking about probably contemplating when he was going to storm the school and how best for him to do it. That was all she needed her husband with his gun. Not really sure how she was going to explain that one to the pupils. It’s okay it’s my husband.. you see he’s a spy. Its okay he won’t harm you unless you are a terrorist. Shaking her head, she grabbed her bag and rushed out of the school, just before double checking that all her cover work had been set and ready for the classes she was missing. She got to the car and saw Lucas, her husband leaning against it. He turned looking at her; he looked like he was on the edge but his face softened as he saw her.

‘I am sorry was finishing off the bottle of Lucozade’ She apologized as she got into the car. She could still taste it in her mouth, she really hoped this was not a regular occurrence her having to do this, because Lucozade to her tasted disgusting. And if she ever needed to drink it again she might throw it back up.

Lucas smiled softly to her, ‘I was just worried something had happened’

‘I know’ she nodded, ‘I should have drunk it earlier, but I did not think you would want your pregnant wife complaining how much she needed to pee all the way to the hospital’

Lucas laughed at that, ‘My wife always practical’

Hayley laughed. ‘Come on if we don’t get there soon they will cancel the appointment and we won’t get to see the baby today’

Lucas smiled at that. And began to drive.

LNLNLNLN

Hayley had always hated hospitals the smell of disinfectant on the floors always made her feel sick add to the fact she was pregnant and this was too much for her.  She could never pin point the moment she began to hate hospitals but she thought that it could be all the time that she spent up when her Nan had gotten ill, spending weeks upon weeks up a hospital, bringing her homework up every night so that she could spend some moments with her beloved Nan. She had broken down when she lost her. She was unsure how she would carry on but she remembered what she told her. To keep strong and to make her proud. If only she could see her now. Expecting her first child being married to a man that her she loved and her Nan used to tell her about. Her Nan would be proud that she was sure.

‘Lucas Can you book me in please?’ she looked green. She needed to get out if she didn’t she was likely to throw up and it would only be Lucozade she brought up.

Lucas watched as she flew out the doors taking huge breaths.

‘Mrs Hayley North, Date of Birth 18th March 1986. Appointment for 1.30’ He smiled to the receptionist who raised an eyebrow at him, ‘Obviously I am not Hayley. I am here husband she is just getting some air for the moment’
