Why did Mike and his friend have to have one of their stupid movie nights tonight? All Nancy really wanted was a lazy night in so she be swallowed up in her very-over-dramatised sadness and block out the world with her old breakup song tapes - god, she was regressing back to her fifteen year old self. But instead, she had to drive all the way to Family Video ,during the time that Nancy new someone she was trying and failing to avoid would be working the till. Why did she have to endure such torture?

Trying to open the door as quietly as possible, she did her best to act normal- as much as she could be in this situation.
"Hey Nance, you looking for anything in particular?"
Nancy sighed, it wasn't going to be easy to get Robin of her back but she had to try.
"Not really, just picking something up for my brother."

"I- um think I might have the perfect film in the back if you'll er come with me?"

So she followed the taller girl into the small room, ignoring the big "STAFF ONLY" sign.

"Um- Nance, I've done some thinking and, of course I was hurt at first by your actions but, for the past months, you've been such an incredible friend and like I would probably be dead if it weren't for you being at my side and saving me way too many times. But that's beside the point. Basically what I'm trying to say is that I also want to more than friends with you and I have had these... feelings for quite a while now."

Without any hesitation, she pulled Robin into a tight hug. It was the safest she had felt in a long time. She had found her person- she was entirely sure of it when it struck her right then. It was so oblivious. This is the person she wanted to spend as much of her life with as she could, to dance with in the rain, to write cringy poetry for and to sit with comfortable without even having to say a word.

She abruptly pulled back a few minutes later to ask the questions that had been haunting her for the fast two days. "But... what about your girlfriend?" Which came out a lot harsher than intended.

"What? Oh... you mean Vickie right? God no! I mean, I did like her at some point but not anymore- she could never like someone like...me."

Robin let out a half-hearted giggle.

"Well... I do"

They moved closer until their foreheads were both touching,Nance felt her heart pounding like a cadged bird. Then came the long awaited kiss - it was nothing like she had ever experience before, she was flooded with warmth and pure joy.It was safe to say that Mike's movie was entirely forgotten about by this point.

A/N:
This is quite a short chapter, since the previous one was quite lengthy. Once again, I apologise for any typos!I am loving getting to write the development of this relationship! Also, I promise the next chapter will be quite happy, though we are approaching some which are less so...
Hope you enjoyed this and thank you for reading!
