The only reason Loki didn't grab Wanda and teleport away, was because he saw the beauty in front of him that he'd been looking for. His scepter.

Wanda's eyes immediately found Pietro, and her face fell. He looked nearly same as she remembered, only he had longer hair and a bit of a mustache growing. Also he had more muscles.

Pietro saw Wanda and his eyes widened, seeing her blood stained clothes. His first thought was that Loki did it, especially after seeing dead people in the room. Wanda wouldn't do that.. right?

"Hand over the girl, Loki, and we can resolve this peacefully." Steve said, revealing his shield as a way to strike fear.

Loki wasn't afraid of the frisbee though.

"How about my proposition instead." Loki began.

He grabbed Wanda and yanked her in front of him, holding her firmly. A dagger summoned in his hand again, they'd disappeared when Pietro decided to run into him, and he put the dagger at Wanda's neck.

"You give me the scepter, or I'll slit her throat."

Natasha, who was holding the scepter, hesitated. For all she knew, Loki would kill the girl regardless of whether or not he got the scepter.

"So this is what we've come to?" Wanda spoke into his mind.

"Trust me. I won't hurt you." Loki replied.

Wanda certainly did not believe him.

"Will you hand her over if we give you the scepter?" Pietro asked, speaking for the rest of the team.

"Kid-" Tony started, but Steve cut him off.

"Absolutely. You have my word." Loki gave a smirk that made every other person in the room not trust his word.

Natasha stared at him, then she glanced at Wanda, who looked quite frightened with the blade inching closer to ending her life. The Widow carefully set the scepter down on the ground, then she pushed the weapon over to him.

Loki looked down as the scepter hit his feet. The dagger in his hand disappeared and he shoved Wanda forward, causing her to stumble into Natasha's arms. She turned around as Loki picked up the weapon and disappeared in a flash of blue.

Wanda gave a shaky breath as Natasha held her, trying to calm her.

Pietro immediately moved in front of her and his eyes softened. He didn't think he'd see Wanda again, and now that he could, he had no words. Natasha let go of Wanda, and the witch stared at Pietro, who now, looking closer, was definitely taller than she last saw him.

The twins embraced each other, hugging with no words being spoken.

None of the Avengers said anything until Thor broke the moment.

"Loki got away. He has two infinity stones it seems, I will go find him."

The God spun his hammer and flew up, breaking through the roof off the base, and apparently a lot of dirt that was covering the roof.

The alive scientists in the room were whimpering and mumbling a bunch of things.

"I'll deal with these guys." Steve said. "Take her back to the ship."

Wanda turned her head towards the scientists and her eyes flashed red for a split second, spooking them enough to know that if they said anything about her, they'd end up the same as the other three.

And that one guy that got hit by the door.

Pietro put his arm around Wanda protectivly and Tony took charge of leading the group back towards the ship.
