In less than a minute, the elevator door opened and Wanda gave an internal sigh of relief as she saw her brother.
He didn't look well though.
He stared at her, disbelief in his eyes. She didn't blame him. He didn't deserve her running off like that and disappearing for three weeks.
He moved towards her and put a hand on her face, as if checking to himself to see if she was really there or not. She froze a touch, his hand was cold, but then he retracted his hand and spoke.
"Why... Where? What is going on?"
"I'm sorry. I know I've made a mess but please... Please help me."
Pietro's hands shook slightly. Not only could he see the fear and worry in Wanda's eyes, he could practically sense it as well. He didn't know what to do, but he did want to help. He just hoped it didn't bite him in the ass.
"What's wrong? Did Loki do something?"
Wanda took a few breaths, then explained everything.
She started from how Loki got her out of the cell, then began explaining the HYDRA attacks, then she spoke about Loki's "meditation" and how she figured out what was actually going on. Pietro listened closely, not wanting to feel sorry for her since she brought this all on herself, but unable to not feel sorry.
She finished her rant with "And he's onto me. I think he knows that I know and I'm scared, Pietro. I'm scared."
Pietro took a moment, not knowing how to reply. He wanted to help, but he didn't know how. And what if this was a trap? What if Wanda had turned to the dark side and was trying to pull him in too? He really hoped that wasn't the case.
"Okay, I'm going to tell all the Avengers this. Get him out of the tower for a bit then come back around evening, we can spring an attack on him." He said.
If this didn't work and Wanda and Loki ended up disappearing again, Pietro would at least know they wouldn't be in the tower anymore. He'd get Tony to have Jarvis go through all floors.
Wanda gave a nod.
"I.. I can do that." She said.
Pietro stepped out of elevator and Wanda remained in.
"Wanda, if this is a trap and you intend on betraying me again in the end.. Just... Just know Loki isn't the right person for you if he's convincing you to do this."
"I know. I know now." Wanda replied.
Jarvis shut the elevators and Wanda took a deep breath as it lowered, bringing her down to Loki again.
She figured she'd make up an excuse about how she wanted him to join her on her outside endeavor. He had an ego so convincing him that she wanted him with her wouldn't be hard. Also.. He did seem a bit interested in spending more time with her. While Wanda had never personally experienced a boyfriend or things like that, she did know signs of it and the way Loki looked at her was a simple sign that he liked her. Or maybe she had an ego too.
The elevator opened up on Floor 2 and Wanda walked into the room. She made her way towards the main room, her eyes falling on Loki reading something. Loki noticed her entering the room so he turned and shut the book, setting it down.
"And you say my meditation is fast." He chuckled.
Wanda gave an awkward laugh, hoping it didn't sound forced.
"Uhm, I was wondering, would you like to join me on the walk out? I'd like to have some company. We can get some food too, just have a day out since we're not fighting and staying in can get boring." She suggested.
