I was hesitant about leaving Carl to go fight with the others I didn't want to leave him if something bad happened. But I knew he'd do it in a heartbeat because that's who he was, he was a fighter and cared about his family. I didn't want to lose him but I knew he would understand completely.

I sighed before grabbing my knife from the table and walking out the front door. There were more of them outside I ran outside to where they were and took out as much anger as I could it was a way of coping almost. All that ran through my head was Rick's words that we were the walking dead. Rosita, Eugene, and some others came outside too and helped. I felt stronger as I killed them. I started hearing faint gunshots from the other side. There were more people fighting. We all had a circle that we stayed in killing walkers coming toward us instantly. My brain felt foggy as I killed them I felt nothing. Suddenly a machine gun started firing making all of us turn our heads.

"Keep going!" Rick yelled as he struck one in the head easily with his ax. There were more of us now we were all stronger together.

I was weird feeling nothing as I killed them I used to throw up at dead corpses but now killed them with no problem I didn't find it concerning though it felt freeing. There were so many walkers nearby creating so many snarls as most of them fell to the ground. We were starting to get backed up but we all kept going keeping our hopes up as the blood splattered on all of us. We were now backed up against the walls of Alexandria.

"Move it! Back up!" Rick commanded as we followed his orders without question.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a huge flame went off in the pound in the middle of Alexandria. It was so bright I almost thought it was almost a spiritual thing like something had saved us. The flames were tall and wide as they struck out and caught the walkers attention. They all turned their heads at the same time slowly as they slowly crept over towards it. We all stood caught off guard as we saw the flames behind the trees in front of us.

"Don't let up!" Rick said continuing to kill them with no hesitation.

I struck one in the head as it fell towards me making me kick it off and making the others fall over it like dominions. All of them backed away not caring about us but more about the flames behind them. I started to smell the smoke in my nose and entering my lungs making my mind feel less foggy. Most of them had now walked into the water with gasoline setting them on fire. We had been saved. They were gone.

I smiled in relief and started walking back to the infirmary as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Everyone started to follow me as I walked in. It had now become light outside as I saw the clear images of the corpses laying on the street.
