The sanctuary was quite dark at this hour as Lilith and Jesse were contained in Lilith's room the silence consumed every inch between them. They had gotten back from Alexandria hours ago yet still stayed with each other. Lilith couldn't bear being alone in her own mellow thoughts. Jesse hadn't even been requested by Lilith to stay he just did. Besides all their differences they understood each other below surface level even despite still not trusting each other. As the silence grew louder as well as the sun that had set hours prior the silence that once comforted them, then became overwhelming.

"Thanks for staying," Lilith spoke quietly as she sat like a child on her bed with her legs to her stomach as she rested her exhausted head on her knees. Jesse remained silent not knowing what to say in such an intimate setting. The girl hummed to herself as the boy sat up his back facing her and made his way near the dresser as the footsteps echoed in the quiet room.

"Did he give you this?" Jesse asked in a monotone voice as he held up the Mp-3 Player in his hand, looking back at the girl. She just nodded her head in response as she looked straight through him almost. "Did you er- Did you know that you were going to break up with him before we got there?" He said almost in a whisper as her face looked as though she had been being interrogated.

"I had this dream the night before. Well, I usually have dreams it's not uncommon, especially after the line-up. But it was different the dream started the same as always, replaying the night unfolding as Negan killed...them." Her voice went quiet as the sentence went on and her glance once so confident shattered as she looked down away from him. "And after he walked up to Carl and he killed him and there was nothing I could do I remember screaming and sobbing uncontrollably but it was like I froze like I wasn't even there. Like I couldn't have done anything to prevent it at that moment."

"Why don't you say their names?" Jesse asked as he set the MP-3 Player back on the dresser and made his way back onto the bed laying beside the girl on his side facing her with his head in his hand.

"If I do...it would be the first time me saying their names in the sense that they're gone and I don't want to use their names like that. I want to remember me laughing with them and yelling out their names in foolishness." She muttered trying to reach her hands to her mother's necklace but quickly remembered all that unfolded from earlier that day.

"I used to be the same way with Alisha." He muttered as he looked away from the girls vibrant eyes still glimpsing through the dark room.

"How do you get over something like that?" Lilith blurted out in confusion before cupping her mouth with her hand. She instantly felt the load of guilt that came with those words.
