Rave

I was in trouble, big trouble. It was a simple task, hide a gas bomb inside the bush, and then a smoke bomb in another. No one else was out there and the cameras were all shut down to prepare for a time switch. It would be as if I was never there, as if I had somehow avoided the few cameras they had there, and that would be right. That's at least, how it was supposed to go down. The bombs would go off automatically at 5 o'clock sharp, two minutes after the workers at the factory were let out early. Once they go off, I go in to steal the keys off of Tomas Fordmen, the main man entrusted with them. I'd unlock the door the other's would enter in and move on to unlock the shed and gather the supplies I needed to acquire there. Last step would be to plant the bomb, drop the keys, and 5 minutes afterwards the bomb would blow up everything and everyone. My partners would have stolen everything by then, and we'd be gone before the true chaos would start. It wasn't until I woman stepped out before her time, that we had to fudge with the plans a bit.

"Hey! What are you doing?!"

I froze, looking to the left to see a woman running towards me. There was a probability of that happening, so I had tranquilizers just in case. Someone must have caught me in the act because in a matter of minutes more people came out. It was only 4:45, too early to set everything off early

I had to make a choice, either run or fight them all. My mates haven't arrived yet to help out, and I'd be a lunatic if I thought I had enough ammo to shoot them all, dead or asleep. Someone must have called the cops by then too. I sighed, shaking my head as I ran around the block. I had 5 minutes, 5 minutes until I could set off the bombs manually. I just needed to distract the guards chasing after me until then. I jumped over a 5-foot gate with ease, climbing up and running on top of a short brick wall. They were lagging behind me, and didn't see where I disappeared off to when I jumped down and ran through the small gap between buildings. As I ran I dropped a few traps for my tag along buddies, and both of them fell for it so easily! I didn't have time to watch them though, I had more guards to worry about.

Two more guards were racing each other to be the first to catch me as I sprinted through an alley. As soon as they both lost sight of me I waited in a small corner between more buildings coming out to surprise them with pepper spray in their eyes. Jumping over them both as they fell I ran the other direction, silently laughing under my mask.

'Two more minutes...'

Now there were four, the last ones must have called for backup, but I dodged them all. We ran through a maze and scurried up and down buildings. I had managed to separate and lose them all without being caught, then walked peacefully through buildings innocent to the situation knowing no one would tell about my presence, it would make a scene.

By 4:52 I made it back to the scene of the soon to be crime. I could hear the sirens from a mile away, but they'd be too late to stop all of this now. I hid behind a wooden gate observing the employees outside. People went back in the building, checked in the bushes for something hidden, or just waited around hoping to find the guards who never caught me. My partners were already in position; I already texted them the situation and they knew the bombs would be going off early. All of us counted down.

'3...2...1'

The bombs silently went off, and all of us switched into our gas masks.

Fortunately for me the guy I was pickpocketing was on the front lawn and was one of the first to get knocked out by the sleeping gas. I grabbed the keys and quickly ran through the falling crowd. The smoke completely covered me, and no one could hear my footsteps. The doors were unlocked, and I just put the bomb in place setting the timer as soon as possible.

'The police will be here in any minute now, I'll turn my camera on just in case they come in here.'

It was one of our tools we used for the slim chances things go wrong. The camera was made to withstand anything blocking its vision, pitch black, smoke, a T-shirt and a jacket, anything. We all made it out in time with the items we came for and the new bombs in place. No one else would survive this, it would be another tragedy. My heart raced faster than it ever had before. I was shutting down, my limit coming closer every second. My feet wouldn't move as quickly as they used to, and my vision blurred. I was quietly gasping for air, but no one stopped. It wasn't their fault, we were trained to take the stuff from the weak link and leave them behind. I threw the bag to Aries and he carried the rest of the weight across the street into the getaway car. I, on the other hand, didn't look where I was going.

BEEP BEEP!

I saw a blinding light, then the world went black.

Freedom

I felt myself being dragged into something, my limbs sore but still numb enough to wince from the pain. I didn't know if they knew that I was somewhat awake, but I wasn't taking chances. Allowing them to drop me wherever I tried my best to fall back asleep. I must have successfully dozed off for a second, because the next thing I heard was the rain trickling down outside. I felt the cold hit my face seconds later soon followed by the scent of rain. My body was completely numb, it was like I was a floating spirit between life and death awaiting to hear my fate. I could barely hear my own heartbeat, and my world was still dark.

'Am I dreaming?'

There was no way of knowing, I simply had to wait this one out.

Finally, I had the strength to open my eyes. As soon as I was fully conscious the first thing I could think of was food, I was starving! The smell of cinnamon and sugar in the air didn't help either. I was on top of a soft, gooey cinnamon roll similar to the one a nice lady gave to me years back, but larger. Immediately I knew I was dreaming, it's a shame I couldn't enjoy it longer.

I was shaken awake, the cloth covering my eyes was taken off and an intense light blinded me even through my eyelid. I had to wait a while before I could open them, but the intensity was still too overwhelming for me. As soon as I could, I observed my unfamiliar environment. The room was bare, bright, and empty; the only interest in sight was a young boy about 3 years younger observing me from across the room. His cold hazel eyes stared through his blonde bangs and into my soul. I was intimidated by him, that's all I could conclude. There were no doors, no windows, just us. Even so, the boy didn't bother explaining why. For what seemed like another hour or so all I could do was stare at the boy with the pink clipboard. I don't know what happened after that, all I can say is that there was a sharp pain in my back and I blacked out.

The next thing I heard was the sound of wheels rolling around through a quiet area. When I opened my eyes my vision was blurred; I could barely make out any one person and was slowly losing my ability to tell the difference between colors. I was picked up by who I assumed to be two people and was laid on a table to be undressed and pressed on. Someone stuck something inside me and placed another object on top of it. A minute later, the quiet sounds of movement were met with a continuous beeping sound. The next sharp object that poked me put me right back to sleep.
