Unknown: Libya's story

Libia had already begun nervously fiddling with her fingers waiting for her brother to react, but Rave only sat still. He knew the whole truth, and like all the rest he didn't know how to fully react.

"Don't think I've forgotten you, Libi! There's a special plan for you, my dear," I grinned, catching Libya's full attention.

Libia wasn't acting herself. I could see it; each story slowly ate at her soul. That little girl unphased by anything that was thrown at her, intelligent, strong, and loyal to those she trusts. That mask of hers had finally fallen.

"To think, this is all it took to shatter that apathetic mask you wore! At least we know that a part of your intended purpose carried out as planned."

She stared at me, then at her brother, then at me again. She took a deep breath, putting herself back together

"Okay...I'm ready," Libia replied.

"Your purpose and truth is simple. You're a back up if Rave fails. If he dies, runs away, or fails severely you're up next to replace him. If he left you behind, we would have left your brother alone and went on with the plan with you," I explained.

"Alright, I'm fine with that."

"However, you proved to be an even better model of your brother. Not only were you the female we were going for, but you didn't have any complications. You have the strength and quickly adapting intelligence your brother lacked. In other words, you're pretty much a gender swap of your brother, but younger, smarter, and stronger. Still, your brother could make up for his part if he worked harder, there isn't anything actually wrong with him in average human standards. He actually was doing just that, and in about a year or two if you were the same age as him you'd be completely identical in stats; so we decided to simply let you be his sidekick or something along those lines. We even assigned an agent to look after you as well! He didn't do much since you were pretty obedient, but he kept you well educated didn't he?"

"Mr. Stanman?"

"Correct! The only guy who properly did his job and got to live! There's nothing really to talk about with him. Anyway, once again as he grew up we realized Rave didn't need you in his life at all! You weighed him down, keeping him from reaching his full potential simply because he was caring for and protecting you. Without you he'd do just fine, so we made him forget you all together!"

I could see the pain in Libya's eyes. It really was such a shame, she wasn't supposed to feel emotions at all, but then again, Azoria wasn't either. I guess it really did depend on your environment if you could feel anything or not. Rave looked at his drained little sister and did something I never knew he still had in him. He came over and embraced her gently, placing his head on top of hers.

"So, you mean to tell me that Libya is my little sister!?" Rave seemed to ask, but his tone said otherwise.

"Your own flesh and blood! She wasn't lying to you child, you taught her yourself never to lie unless it's for a really good reason!"

"I think she's heard enough by now. What do you really want from us? Do you want to recruit Libya and Freedom now?"

"Now now, hasty aren't we! I'm almost finished!"

"No. You are finished!"

Rave practically covered Libya's ears, Libia, slowly releasing herself from his grasp.

"I'm not a little kid anymore, brother, I can handle it," Libia rebelled.

I clasped my hands together, "Yes, Rave, she can handle it."

"No you can't, Libia, you-"

"Rave just stop! I need to grow up at some point! I'll be a teenager one day, and afterwards, I'll become an adult! I know you won't always be there to protect me, and I'll find out the truth at some point, it's best if we just get this over with now."

"I couldn't have said it better myself!" I clapped my hands cheerfully.

"Okay Libia... If you truly want to know, then let's just get it over with." Rave sighed

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. We had to choose between keeping you or keeping Rave. I decided we'd choose Rave since he was less likely to protest after you were out of the picture. Unless Rave died before we could get to you, you would die. When Dr. Sybil took you in for a check up that evening she was supposed to tell you that you needed to be vaccinated. The vaccines she'd be injecting into you would actually be poison. You'd go out peacefully, and Rave wouldn't know a thing! While Dr. Sybil was preparing your 'vaccination', she gave another nurse Rave's new medication, the medicine that would erase his memory of you. The world would slowly forget you, you'd be buried respectively of course, Rave would become the better version of himself, everyone's happy!"

"And why are you telling all of this now?" Libia asked, "Aren't you afraid that one of us would retaliate, or is it, that it doesn't matter either way?"

"You'll know soon my dear, be patient."

I checked the timer on my wrist, it was time to wrap it up. I stood up from my seat, walking silently towards the door and unlocking it with a key.

"Well, I'll be off! Take some time to chat with each other again. It's like you're total strangers nowadays, that's no good! After all, this may be the last peaceful chat you'll ever have, spend this time wisely!"
