Azoria
"Breathe in, breathe out," I whispered, "one more time...one more time."
I was at the hospital, checking the little boy's heart rate while the doctor carefully watched my every move. If I couldn't help it, I'd be shaking. The physical seemed to last an eternity, and my hands quivered slightly more and more as time went on. Dr. Wells had her blonde and gray hair perfectly tied in the back of her head forming an elegant bun for which the patient longed to touch. The bun was obviously the only thing he felt comfortable with pertaining to Dr. Wells, meanwhile, he grew quite fond of me at first glance. I finally finished the physical, giving the little boy a sticker when I let him out the door. Dr. Wells practically glared into my soul, not speaking a word to me when she left as well. I hesitated to follow.
"U-uh...Dr. Wells...did I pass?" I asked in a mild yell.
She didn't answer, and I didn't dare ask again. That woman made everyone in the hospital uncomfortable. She presented herself as conceited and cold, but there was no denying that she was good at her job. I went back inside the small room with a sigh and cleaned up. Afterward, I sat down in the desk chair and dozed off for a few seconds completely worn out.
A complete scene of pure black; it was as cold as a winter storm and I could see nothing. I attempted to move but couldn't do that either. I tried to speak, but it was pointless to try. What I could do, however, was hear faint footsteps draw near.
Tap...tap...tap...tap-tap-tap-tap
My heart raced from the immediate change. As soon as I could, I ran. My footsteps matched those of the anonymous follower chasing me in this complete darkness before-
Crack...
I began to fall silently through a seemingly bottomless pit, a fall that was short lived.; I did stop, however, and was welcomed by a dim light centered in the room I fell to. What I saw below that light shocked me.
At last, I could speak.
"Rave, Freedom, Libia!"
Frozen in fear, they didn't reply. They were chained to a wall, Rave with blood dripping from his body. He tried his best signaling for me to hush, and it wasn't long before I knew why. The sound of footsteps echoed in the black like someone was walking through low level water, and I looked back afraid of what I might find.
"I've been watching all of you for quite some time," the mysterious voice cooed followed by a chuckle.
The splashing sound was once again replaced with the taps from solid ground, "I've known you all since you were born, especially you Azoria," I froze, hearing my name fly out of his mouth so easily.
Instantly, everything became clear. My nightmare, everything, the ONLY thing I feared had come true!
"Why such a long face my dear? Don't you remember me? After all we've been through?"
I felt chills as his hand gently pushed me closer to him, as he lifted my chin slowly as our noses touched. I could look no longer, his soft moist lips touching mine. My...
"Wake up!"
I was slapped awake and Dr. Wells stood in front of me as pissed as ever,
"It's time for the next appointment! Get up!"
Slowly, I stood up, facing reality and straightening my dazed attitude. I plastered a fake smile on my face, and a few minutes later, the next patient arrived at the door.
My heart sank. I began to tremble, unconsciously scooting away. That fake smile of mine turned into a frown. Dr. Wells glared at me for my behavior, but how could I not act that way? I wanted to run, as fast as I could, as fast as I did the first time I ran away. My heart raced, only one person could make me feel that way.
