Eyes say it all

Meredith's POV-
Trigger Warning!

She helped clean me up and put my clothes on. We got up and started to leave but I stopped, i didn't want to go out there. she noticed. "Hey what's wrong babe?" she asked stroking my arm. "Hold my hand?" "Of course" she grabbed my hand and intertwined her fingers in mine. "What about the conference room? it's dirty" I whispered, i kept myself close to the dirty blonde. "Don't worry about it baby, they'll clean it." she reassured me.

We walked up to the residents locker room. She stayed with me while I got changed into my regular clothes. It felt good to be with her, I never felt the way i feel when i'm with her. I didn't mind if i changed in front of her, i mean she's already seen me, twice in one day but most importantly I was comfortable enough around her. I wasn't comfortable with anyone else.

"you ready to go?" she asked holding out her hand. "Yeah" i whispered. I grabbed her hand. We walked out and turned around the corner and i saw him. I wanted to run away. I gripped onto her hand even more. I felt a panic attack build up. My breathing became heavy.

"arizona?" i whispered through a breath. she turned towards me and immediately pulled me into a tight hug to suppress my nervous system. "Hey it's alright baby. I got you." she whispered in my ear.

"He's over there" I whispered whilst gripping on the back of her scrub top for support. "I've got you" she whispered and squeezed me tighter. "He won't touch you as long as i'm here" she whispered. "okay..." I whispered. after i calmed down she let go and intertwined her hand back in mine and pulled me close to her. It felt good to be close to her, safe even.

We walked past derek but i'm not sure if he noticed. We walked to the attendings lounge so arizona could get changed and get her things.

"Hey i'm going into the bathroom to change, are you going to be okay?" she asked. "please don't leave me." i said hugging her. "i'm scared." i added whilst looking up at her. "Okay come" she said and grabbed my hand. she walked into the bathroom and started to get changed. "oh" i said when she took her shirt off and covered my eyes with my hand. I heard her snicker at me. 

"Okay i'm done" she said whilst taking my hand off my eyes. I looked up at her. "You have such pretty eyes" she said whilst smiling. I hid my smile by putting my head in her chest. we walked out of the bathroom and there he was.

"Oh hey meredith." he said smiling. my face turned cold. Arizona grabbed my hand and started to walking, I followed right behind her. "What now your going to ignore me?" He said pulling me by my other arm, I winced. He had a tight grip and was being rough with me.

"You let go of her. Now." Arizona said getting up in derek's face. "oh? I don't think I will. " he smirked. "I'm sorry it wasn't a question on whether or not you should. It was an order." She spat at him. "She's my girlfriend i'm sure she wouldn't mind me grabbing her for a minute" he said and winked at me. ew. "I don't think she wants to be your 'girlfriend' anymore" she said. "then who'd she go to? you?" he teased. "maybe she will" she said in all seriousness, maybe I would. Eventually after minutes of intense eye contact between them, he let go and we left.

After we go out of the attendings lounge and around into a different hallway arizona stops and turns to me. "Are you okay?" she asks. "I feel safe when i'm with you" I admit to her and she smiles. "Good." she says and we continue walking. We walked out of the hospital towards her car, hand in hand. Once we got to her car she seemed embarrassed because the inside of her car was dirty, but I knew mine was worse so i didn't say anything. her cheeks turn a bright blush red when she was embarrassed, it was cute.

as she started to drive, i noticed her hand on the center counsel. I slowly and swiftly moved my hand towards hers and intertwined mine with hers. She slightly squeezed my hand. she faced me and smiled, I smiled back. 

"Thank you...." I whispered. "For what?" she asked. "for standing up for me." i said looking down at my lap. "for you.. anything" she said whilst smiling. I feel good when i'm with her, that's good. right? We got to her house and it's big. My whole house could probably fit in her house. "Wait" she said when she got out of the car. she walked over to the passengers side and opened the door holding out her hand for me to grab. I smiled, she's too cute. "want a tour" she asked. "Sure" i replied.

We walked into her house and she took my jacket and hung it up. She started showing me around, her kitchen was big and it hand a island with a marble counter. White cabinets and all. I noticed her house had a mellow but minimalist vibe going on and it had a color theme of white, grey, sage green, light blue, with a bit of light yellow at some places. It was cute. Her house was beautiful, every time I looked at a different room something in it reminded me of her. When she showed me her backyard/patio it was extremely beautiful. It had string lights strung from corner to corner, a garden of flowers, a pool, and pretty much anything else u could think of. It's like a pinterest pin. i snorted at my remark. Once she finished the tour we sat in the living room, she sat next to me and put the tv on. She put on 'New Girl'. we watched a couple episodes of New Girl and cuddled into each other. Until she moved.

"Hey come back." I said pulling her back to lay with me. "pwease" I sounded like a freaking child, a child! she made me feel like this, like like i can't even explain.  She looked over and smiled, god that smile. "It's almost 6, I've got to start cooking dinner" she giggled. "I'm not that hungry, I'm still pretty full from lunch." as soon as I said that her face went serious.

"Mer, April told me you didn't eat lunch. So you haven't eaten anything all day." she responded, shit I'm screwed. "But i did eat" I lied to her face. "No mer you haven't. Stop lying, there's no reason to lie to me." she said calmly but still upset that I lied to her. "fine." I said hushed and bitterly, crossed arms. "good" she said. she gave me a kiss on my head and off to the kitchen she was. As i was sitting there i heard a notification go off on my phone.

*Derek Shepherd, 1 Notification

I don't know what to do. to open it or not. leave it and it ignore it. Or to tell the one person who i know wouldn't judge me for being scared about it. I got up and walked towards the kitchen. I sat on the stool until she noticed I was here.

"Oh" she said as she turned around. "what's up babe?" she asked when I keep staring at my hands. "I umm well see haha...Derek texted me" i said still staring at my hands. I heard her walk over and put her hand on my back rubbing circles. "Did you open the text?" she asked. I nodded my head no. She kissed my temple. "Do you want to?" She asked, I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I just don't want to get hurt by him." I said. "He won't touch you as long as i'm here" she said. "Okay" i whispered. "No you open it." I said handing her the phone. "if you want me to" she said and I nodded my head yes. She grabbed my phone, opened the message and read it. Her face soon dropped when she read deeper into the text.

"What is it?" I asked. "Umm, mer. You shouldn't go back home." she said.
