"Coffee?" your mother held a pot of freshly made coffee in her right hand in front of you. It was the middle of the day now, you had stayed in your bed for a bit longer and afterwards taken a shower. The cool water hitting against your skin was refreshing, you washed your hair and then stood in the shower for a few minutes allowing your mind to clear from all thoughts as you concentrated on the sound of the water hitting the tilled floor beneath your feet. "Yes, please." you looked up at her from your plate on which laid a warm crepe that you've picked on. She poured coffee in the mug beside your plate and passed you the milk from the fridge, you took it and poured it in your black coffee making it turn lighter and lighter. After drying yourself off you found yourself some comfortable clothes, grey sweats and slightly oversized black band shirt and allowed your hair to slowly dry on its own. You were now sitting at the kitchen island on the middle seat from the three seats there was. "How are the crepes?" leaning on the counter across you your mother asked you.

"Yeah, they're nice." keeping your eyes down you take a piece of the flat pancake and eat it, your mothers eyebrows pull together with concern. "How was the gig?" letting out a sigh you lean back in your seat and bring one of your legs up on the chair bent up, you rest your arm on your knee and keep your eyes down "It was good, people liked the song I performed, alone..." slowly you replied. Your mother couldn't help but stare at you with a sorrow look, one can only imagine how painful it is for a mother to see her child hurt. She opened her mouth wanting to say something but nothing came out so she put her lips back together. Readjusting, now standing with her arms lightly crossed over her chest she attempts to say something again "Honey--" the door bell rang and cut her off catching you mothers attention though you remained still. She looked back at you for a second and then reached over the island putting a hand behind your head, pulling you slightly in before planting a gentle soft kiss on your forehead "I'll be right back, eat up before it gets cold." she said before walking around to the front door leaving you alone.

Picking up the mug you read what's written on it in capital italic letters "TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY" you scoffed and took a sip of your coffee, 'We'll see.' you thought as you took in the addictive smell of coffee. Silent chatter came from behind you followed by your mother calling out to you "Y/n, it's for you!" your lifted slightly and you placed your mug down before rushing to the door. 'What if it's Chrissy? Or Eddie?' you were upset at them but also worried, you had a thought that perhaps something happen to them and it made you feel guilty for being upset with them. Reaching the door your eyes were wide and then you finally saw them. Max Mayfield.

"Hey." the red haired girl said, your eyes dropped and your heart sank back down. "Hey Max." your mother squeezed your shoulder slightly before walking back to the kitchen leaving the two girls behind. "You okay? You look like you've cried-" she tilted her head to the side slightly and furrowed her brows a bit. "Yeah, yeah, I- uhm, didn't sleep, well." scratching the back of your neck you look down. "Uhm, have you seen the news?" Max cut straight to the point and you looked back up at her confused "No? Why?" you slowly asked with a pause between the two sentences. "Are you busy?" she quickly asked. "No?" you answered back. "Then go put your shoes on, I'll wait in the car with the others." she said as she backed away "What car? And what do you mean by others?-" you stepped on the threshold with furrowed brows following her with your eyes, you then noticed Steves car where he, Robin and Dustin were sitting in. Lifting your brows you got what she meant by 'others' "Wait, where are we--" "-I'll explain on the way!" before you could finish your sentence Max cut you off.
