Your POV

You're not sure what El done, but she somehow used her powers to wake everyone up at the same time. It was like they had all been electrocuted.. they awoke so suddenly all gasping for air.
"What the shit?" Yelled Dustin.
"What's going on?!" Squeaked Mike.
You and El just sat quietly, waiting for them to notice. It didn't take them long.
"El?" Mike, Dustin, Will and Steve all chorused.
El smiled, a warm, inviting 'it's really me' smile.
Mike rushed over to her instantly and scooped her up into a big cuddle. His hands wandered all over her, checking that she was really there.
"What? How? What happened?" He stumbled over his words trying to make sense of the situation.
"Calm down, and Y/N and I will explain everything, but please, everyone.. keep an open mind" she repeated exactly what she'd said to you.
Listening to El explaining everything all over again gave you a whole new sense of understanding. It was like you didn't quite listen to anything other than 'Eddie is back' the first time round. You realised now why he needs to be eased back in slowly.. and that's ok. You would do anything for him.
Watching your friends facial expressions change from anger, to confusion, to understanding and solidarity was quite a comical experience. Steve was the funniest.. his eyebrows tell you everything!
When El had finished explaining, everyone sat in silence for a good five minutes. The first to break the silence was Will.
"He's the gate." Is all he said.
You all turned to look at him, disbelief no doubt showing on most of your faces.
"I told you.. this 'gate' is different.. it moves, it feels like electricity coursing through my veins.. I don't know how else to explain it.. but I'm certain" he responded.
"Well, let's bring him in and figure this all out" you decide.
El must have already sent him a signal.. or he heard you? Either way he was already walking down the stairs at the sound of his name.
"Hey guys" Eddie shyly waved his hand at the room, "sup?"
"Well, I would charge at you and give you a hug man, but I've heard you might wanna suck me dry" Dustin said sarcastically with a gigantic smile on his face. Ever the joker!
The room erupted in raucous laughter, breaking any awkwardness.
"Love ya man" is all Eddie replied.
And just like that, you knew you would all be ok, and figure this all out together.

Many questions were thrown around the room over the course of three hours. The biggest ones being 'are you the new gate' and 'how are you a vampire'. Apparently Eddie didn't have a clue. He couldn't remember how he was here.. he woke up in the forest just near Hawkins Lab with no recollection of getting there.
"So what happened after we left the Upside Down? Did your body just piece itself back together like a jigsaw puzzle?" Questioned Mike.
"Honestly, I don't know" responded Eddie, "last thing I remember was telling Dustin I loved him. Then everything went black. I felt nothing, until suddenly... It was like pins and needles.. starting in my toes and working it's way up to my head.. I'm guessing that's when my body was fixing itself".
Everyone was so confused.
"Did you see Vecna at all? Did he speak to you? He must've turned you into this.." Robin said gesturing at Eddie.
"Nope. I had that weird feeling, and when I opened my eyes I was back in Hawkins. But I could feel him.. like he was in my head.. telling me over and over to 'kill all subjects' and El's face was the first image to go along with it..." Eddie replied. His glowing purple eyes suddenly took a dark turn and he glared at El. Uh oh.
You grab his hand and start telling him that it's ok. You'll beat this together. El worked her 'magic' again and showed him some more human memories.. you could see his tenseness drop as he started to visibly relax.
"I think talking about Vecna allows him to regain more control over Eddie's mind.. we need to be very careful" explained El.
The nervousness of the room was palpable. You think everyone finally understood just how risky this was.. how quickly Eddie could turn.
"Y-you say the words were 'kill all subjects' right?" Questioned Dustin, "well I supposed we can all agree on something now. Eddie is KAS".
Everyone turned to look at him quizzically.
"Oh come on guys! Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. 'Kill. All. Subjects' ... 'KAS' .. c'mon.. dudes a freaking vampire!" Dustin yelled, clearly exasperated at the dumbness of you all.
It's like a lightbulb clicked on in all of your heads. You all chorused a jumble of words such as 'ohhhhh' and 'riiiiight'.
With that, Will scrambled up and started rummaging through boxes. He pulled out the Dungeons and Dragon game that you all loved playing so much. You glance at Eddie and see him longingly looking at his favourite game.
"Missed this babe?" You ask gently. He squeezes your hand.
"I didn't even remember it until just now" he whispers, a tinge of sadness in his voice. You squeeze his hand back.
Spreading the game across the table, the boys start looking through their campaigns and notes.
"Aha!" Shouts Will, "here it is".
"It states here that Kas was Vecnas right hand man, his most trusted lieutenant. He eventually betrays Vecna and kills him by severing his left hand and eye" states Mike.
"Cool, so Eddie here has just gotta hack off his hand, pop an eye out and we're home safe" grins Steve.
You sigh.. only true freaks know the real backstory.. and just how hard it was going to be.
"Easier said than done" said Dustin, "we've gotta find the Sword of Kas".
"Ummm, and where is that exactly?" Questioned Eddie, the uneasiness emanating from him. You could tell that he was trying so so hard.. and it was breaking your heart.
"Well... only you would know that" replied Dustin, pointing at Eddie, "legend has it that the Sword of Kas actually calls Kas to it.. convincing him to kill 'you know who' and steal his power".
"Great. So now I need to try and listen to a whispering inanimate object.. that so far is the only thing that could help me kill him and free myself!" Eddie sarcastically replied.. seeming defeated.
"Well it's a start. And the only thing we've got so far- don't give up man. We've got your back." Stated Dustin, the confidence in his voice enough for you all to believe in him.
"Ok ok, but since there's no whispering happening right now.. what do we do in the meantime?" Asked Robin.
"Will, are you still sure that Eddie is the Gate?" Questioned El, her soft spoken voice called out to him.
Will glanced at Eddie and asked if they could trial something. Of course, Eddie agreed. You could see just how much he wanted this.
"Dustin, get your compass" demanded Will, and with that, you watched as Eddie put on what looked like some kind of dance show. He was jolting around the room, left to right.. up on the ceiling, crouched down low. He didn't make a single sound. Everyone stared at him in wonder... impressive.
You watched as Dustin's compass needle followed Eddie in every direction effortlessly. Will had his eyes closed and yet he pointed in the same direction alongside the compass... following Eddie's movements.
"Yes, I'm sure. It's weird.. like my body can just sense it" Will confirmed.
"Ok. So he's the Gate. What does that mean? We haven't gotta go back there anytime soon right?" Asked Steve, looking directly at El like she would have all the answers.
"I'm not sure. If we can't find the sword here then we might have to" she replied matter of factly.
"The sword is a legendary, perhaps mythological item, I doubt it's going to be in Hawkins.. or on Earth" stated Dustin.
"We better figure out how to use the gate.. er, Eddie, to get between the two worlds" Robin chimed in.
Everyone mumbled in agreement.
"There's only one problem with that" said Eddie, "HE will know.. if I have to go back there, no one can come with me.. it's HIS world.. he will know that something has changed and we would all be in danger".

Well.. shit.
