Eddie's POV

They parked their cars up at the edge of the clearing. Eddie jumped down out of the Chevrolet and carefully picked up Wayne's body. Hopper carried Vecna over his shoulder into the wide open space and threw him onto the floor. Everyone made their way towards the centre, glum expressions on their faces.
"I need help with a few things" mentioned Eddie, "firstly, I need help digging a hole big enough. Also, can some of you go and find some pretty wild flowers and a couple of freshly fallen branches or bark" he asked his friends. Dustin, Robin and Steve knelt to the floor, and with their bare hands started scraping the mud from the earth. Lucky it had rained yesterday; the earth was soggy and gave away easily. Will, Mike and El went off in search for branches and bark, and Hopper and Kali guarded Vecna.
When his friends returned, they laid down the pieces of wood in front of Eddie.
"What do you want doing with these?" Asked Will softly.
"I'm going to make my uncle a headstone. I'll carve it with my sword" Eddie sadly replied. He watched as the rest of his friends gathered together to carry on digging a grave. He sat on the ground and started carving the piece of bark. As he did so, he let his emotions run free. He quietly sobbed as he carved out the words 'amazing uncle', 'father' and 'friend'. His blood stained tears spattered onto the bark, creating ruby red vine patterns all over. Quite fitting.
"Thankyou for your help, I can finish the rest off quickly" Eddie numbly mumbled to his friends. They nodded and moved aside. With astounding speed Eddie had dug a good six feet into the ground, enough space for his Uncle to be laid to rest. He turned around to pick up Wayne's body, but Dustin, Will, Mike and Steve already had him. They carried him like you would carry a coffin. Eddie's heart, full with grief felt a little lighter as he watched his friends slowly lower his uncles body into the ground. He walked over and plucked a single wild flower from the bunch that were collected.
"I love you Uncle. Thankyou so much for everything" he whispered as he laid the purple headed flower on his uncles chest. With more tears streaming down his face he started to throw clumps of mud into the hole. He looked over at Dustin with such sadness in his eyes.
"Guys, come on" Dustin beckoned for them to join in. It didn't take long before the grave was filled and they all patted the earth back into place. Robin, El and Kali used the branches and twigs to outline the grave, and place the pretty wildflowers in a scattered pattern all around. Eddie took the make shift gravestone and wedged it into the head of the grave before standing up and bowing his head. Everyone gathered around him, holding hands and bowing their heads in respect of Wayne. They stayed like that for a while.
"It should be you in that grave... Kas, the betrayer" Vecna weakly mumbled his first words since being defeated. Eddie turned around in a rage.
"We'll be digging one for you next!" He spat, "but you don't deserve a burial, you'll be tossed to the side like roadkill".
"It doesn't matter if I die now... you'll be coming with me" Vecna chuckled.
"Enough of that!" Yelled El, "tell us how to change Eddie back right now!".
"Stupid girl. He cannot return to his human form. He died a human and is now a creation of my own making. If you kill me, you kill him too" Vecna had the sickest smile on his face; he thought he would stay alive, because no one would let Eddie die again. How wrong he was.
"We don't have the time to try and figure this out guys... I'm sorry" Eddie apologised to his friends.
"What do you mean? Why are you saying sorry?" Asked a panicked Dustin.
"Never change Henderson" Eddie smiled, and in a move so fast it was like a blur, he had run at Vecna and in one fell swoop, sliced his head from his shoulders. His body and head turned to ash, and floated off in the breeze.
"NOOOO!" Came a chorus of screams. Eddie fell to the floor, unmoving. His friends came rushing over to him, shouting, cursing, crying.
"Tel Y/N I love her... and I'm sorry" Eddie smiled up Dustin.

Your POV

A gurgling sound caught your attention. It came from Max. You and Lucas rushed over to where she rested to find her eyes wide open, and frothing at the mouth. Her eyes were still glassy.. almost see through.
"Y/N!! What's happening?!" Lucas screamed in fear.
"I don't know! I don't know!" You yell back. What the hell was happening to her? Her body started convulsing and she started spitting up blood. Then just as sudden as it had started, it stopped, and her body slumped back down, unmoving.

Hoppers POV

"Man, don't do this to me again Eddie, please, don't go..." Dustin sobbed, but Eddie had already gone. His body didn't disappear like Vecnas did, it just lay still, eyes open, unmoving. No heartbeat - although as a vampire he didn't have a beating heart anyway.
"Maybe... maybe he's not dead! Maybe he's just... frozen?" Screamed Dustin, desperate for anything but the truth. Steve wrapped his arms around him and held him as he sobbed.
"I'm so sorry guys... this was the last thing any of us wanted" Hopper shared his condolences. The group spent the next few hours digging a grave right next to Wayne's. Eddie would be laid to rest properly this time, and with his family.
Hopper let the kids say their goodbyes to their friend before ushering them back into the cars. He then quickly rushed back to the clearing and removed all the flowers, twigs, branches and headstone. Last thing he wanted was for someone to stumble upon these two graves, start digging then start asking questions. Hawkins was a mess already, he didn't need more shit on his doorstep. When he got back to his car he started the engine to make the drive back towards town, to go and check on Max. Hopefully the kid had woken up, but again, he was stopped on his way. The creatures that had over run Hawkins were still there. Still frozen. He thought they would've died along with that monster... but apparently not. Everyone jumped out of the cars to get a closer look.
"I don't understand.... Why haven't they gone?" El asked the question aloud, but it seemed more that she was talking to herself.
"It's not going to end..." whispered Will.
"What? What do you mean?" Hopper demanded.
"He may be dead... but the Upside Down is a very real place, with very real creatures... it needs a master, or it will become unruly" Will spoke the words like he was reading them from a book.
"Who the hell is gonna wanna be the master of that god forsaken place?!" Yelled Hopper in frustration, but he got his answer quicker than he thought. As he started to panic, Will was rummaging around in one of the back packs. He pulled out the hand of Vecna. Why hadn't that turned to ash along with the rest of his body?
"Will.... What are you doing?" A concerned Mike questioned.
"It started with me Mike... and it will end with me" Will calmly replied. He held the hand of Vecna underneath his armpit, as he quickly took one of the weapons from the bag and sliced into his hand. He let out an almighty scream as Hopper rushed towards him.
"The hell are you doing?" A horrified Hopper shouted. Will shot him an apologetic look, as he took the hand of Vecna and placed it over his injuries. Everyone watched as the mummified hand started distorting, black vines creeping out and attaching onto Will's arm. They slithered up around his elbow and disappeared beneath his shirt. The hand had become one with Will.
"WILL! NO!!" El screamed as she lunged towards him, but it was too late.
"I love you guys" were the last words that Will said before he vanished into thin air, the creatures of the Upside Down disappearing with him.
"Ah, shit!" Hopper threw his hat down in anger and worry as he looked around at the kids surrounding him. They were all in complete shock. What the hell had just happened? Is Will the master of the Upside Down now? How the hell was he gonna explain this to Joyce? SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!
