The bell rang and I walked towards my locker to talk out my Literature book. The poem I had read before still was on my mind, but I couldn't figure out who it could have been.I stared at the writing, thinking about who it could have been when I heard someone sniggering.

I turned to find Lana and her minions sniggering at me. I arched my brow at her, and she said "Who's that letter from, UgLee?"

People now turned their attention onto us, why couldn't that bitch talk quietly?

I rolled my eyes and was about to walk away when she blocked my way. She looked up at me and said, "Don't walk away from me. You've got to answer"

I wanted to giggle at her face; she was so short but acting all proud. "Well, I choose not to. I don't need to waste my time with someone like you."

Murmurs spread around and I pushed her minions away from me, then suddenly her favorite minion Jimin pulled on my arm, her witch nails digging into my skin. I gritted my teeth, biting back the pain, and pulled my arm away from her. I then slapped her face, having everyone gasp and Lana and her minions flinch.

"Don't you dare touch me," I said angrily, having everyone cheer for me and Lana's group scoff.

I dragged Hyemi with me towards the staircase when I heard running. From the mirror stuck on a student's locker, I saw Jimin running to me from behind.

As she was about to pounce on me, I quickly stepped to the right, making her fall flat on her face. Students started to laugh at her, and Lana huffed, saying "Ugh, you're so embarrassing Jimin. Get up."

She then walked away with Jimin crawling hurriedly behind, making a fist at me.

I made a paper sign back, and Hyemi slapped my shoulder while laughing. I then said "Paper wins." before walking to Literature class.

I sat down and opened up the poem carefully under my desk, the teacher wasn't there and no students were there except for me and Hyemi. The poem read...

Love is like the wild rose-briar,

Friendship is like the holly-tree —

The Olly is dark when the rose-briar blooms

But which will bloom more constantly?

That is not known, for neither have bloomed. Yet.

I sat there, reading the poem again. It definitely wasn't from a friend, the writing was from someone I hadn't met, and there was no signature or name. I scratched my head and just then 3 guys came in. It was Jay, Sunghoon, and Jake.

They were laughing at a joke Jay had said when they saw me and Hyemi. She waved to them, who Jay and Jake waved back, but Sunghoon was looking at me. We both made eye contact, but I blinked and quickly looked away.

They all sat beside me but a seat separated us. Sunghoon was at the near end.

I changed my direction to the poem, still sitting in my lap. I switched my sitting position since I felt uncomfortable, having the poem fall down.

It flew under the empty desk next to me. I reached out to get the poem, and so did Sunghoon. He was quicker than me and took the paper. My heart raced thinking he was going to read it, but he just handed it to me with a smile that didn't match his deep, cold glare.

I took it with a thank you and quickly put it on my desk. Damn, I don't think I've ever seen him smile before, my stomach flipping. Well, it wasn't really a smile, but it was a first.

Hyemi pulled on my arm, whisper-screaming in my ear, "Oh my god, did he just smile at you?!"

I shrugged and focused my attention on my book, folding the poem and placing it in my pocket.

The teacher continuously explained the situation of journalism since the other students weren't getting it, and I was getting so tired.

"I can't wait for Physics. This is sooo boring," whispered Jake, "Shooting people seems better."

Jay smacked his hand and hissed warningly at him. If anyone did ever find out that we were part of a mafia, we're dead meat. Or the people who turned us in, we could kill them."

I nodded and looked at Minju. I finally interacted with her after a long time, but it wasn't satisfactory. If only she could regain those memories. But only a miracle could make that happen.

Don't understand? Me too, after all these years.

One day, me and Minju were playing around outside in the school garden, when suddenly she fainted. I wasn't able to comprehend anything at that time, so all I could do was cry for help. I was really close to her, which made me feel attached.

Her fainting switched into something which left her in a coma for 10 months. Doctors couldn't explain nor figure out the reason why, but she had changed.

She had forgotten about me, and when I found her looking at me cluelessly in her hospital bed, it felt like my heart was pierced with multiple daggers.

I wasn't aware of how long I was staring at her for, only when the teacher called me to solve a question, followed by Minju. We both had a question to answer on journalism and I liked the topic, but she appeared to be struggling on her question, even though she was class president.

As she hardly thought, I couldn't help but notice her cute habit of turning her eyes up while thinking. I shook my head and answered my question, quickly helping Minju when the teacher wasn't looking.

She was unfazed by my action, though I just wanted to help, nothing more. I showed her the answer on the board and then erased it after Minju quickly memorized it. She didn't look at me after that, but just smiled awkwardly at me as a thanks.

The teacher checked it and we were both correct, so we went to sit back. As the lesson went on, I saw Minju staring at my exercise book, more exact, my handwriting. I raised my brows at her when we made eye contact for a split second, but she just shook her head and looked at the board. Did she...maybe notice the bruises on my hand?

I tucked my hands under my jacket and turned to face the board. I remembered Jake giving me Minju's number from her friend and randomly texted her.
