S1E1 - WE ONLY SEE EACH OTHER AT WEDDINGS AND FUNERALS

JUST AS HER body was about to fall asleep, a loud clap of thunder shook the house, causing the lights to flicker. Angel jolted upright as the knife flew out of her hand and to the wall to the right of her. She blinked back a curious thought and rushed downstairs, finding everyone rushing outside. She walked behind Diego and blinked at what she saw. A blue ripple in the sky sparked and howled. It flickered with intensity. The strange thing flared with curiosity.

"What is it?" Vanya asked, shouting over the noise.

"Don't get too close," Allison warned.

"Yeah, no shit," Diego deadpanned.

"Looks like some sort of temporal anomaly," Luther noted, "Either that or a miniature black hole. One of the two."

"Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan!"

"Yeah, Shrek, what the fuck?" Angel rolled her eyes.

"Out of the way!" Klaus shouted, running to the front of the group.

Klaus tried to spray it with a fire extinguisher, before realizing it was empty and then deciding to throw it at the ripple. Angel's jaw fell agape at the boy's attempt before realizing she had bigger problems to deal with.

"What is that gonna do?" Allison asked.

Klaus shrugged, "I don't know! Do you have a better idea?"

Electricity crackled in the air as the anomaly shuddered with intensity.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Luther said, pulling Klaus behind him.

Angel stared up at the anomaly, watching as an older man's face appeared.

"Everybody get behind me," Luther exclaimed.

"Yeah, get behind us!" Diego said.

"I vote running! Come on!" Klaus reached for Angel's hand and tugged on it, beckoning her to go. She pulled back and turned to face the music again.

Angel shoved past Diego, staring up at it before her. The old man pressed into the portal more and more, soon morphing into someone else as the anomaly flickered and dissipated, leaving a body to thump to the ground. She moved closer, inspecting the person. The boy looked up in shock.

"Does anyone else see, little Number Five? Or is that just me?" Klaus questioned.

Five looked down at himself before looking back up, "Shit."

"Shit," Angel let the word fall out of her mouth before she could tell herself to not say anything.

EVERYONE STOOD AROUND the table in the cellar as Five plopped a cutting board down. Angel stood back, staring at the boy with an on-edge gaze. 16 years. It had been 16 years since she saw the one person that caused her so much pain. 16 years, and for what reason? To be tormented and unnerved as soon as he got back? She was sure he was dead, sure that her siblings were wrong, sure that she would never have to see this boy again.

"What's the date? The exact date?" Five sighed, reaching for the bread.

"The 24th," Vanya said.

"Of what?"

"March,"

"Good,"

"So, are we gonna talk about what just happened?" Luther asked with a puzzled look cemented on his face.
