This story is basically a thing where after every couple of hundred words I have to add or change something to it as a challenge, ex. Add a character with these traits or incorporate a story principle. So basically this may or may not be an excuse for the story being kinda disconnected at times.
Ace looked at the sky, a wide grin on his face. He loved the feeling of the wind in his hair, and the grass between his toes, that was the only thing he remembered though. It had been awhile since he had lost his memories, alone with only the clothes on his back and his thoughts. No matter how much and how hard he tried, nothing would come to him. Ace may have a family, friends, a significant other or even a pet, but he had no recollection of any of their names or faces. Instead of focusing on that, Ace travelled, to nowhere in particular just seeing where the wind took him, trying to enjoy the strange situation he was in.
"Hey Ace! Stop snorting oxygen and get moving, how else are we supposed to find who did this to us!" The red headed girl yelled at him, several feet ahead. What was her name again? Nia? No it was Nyx, right? Ace thought to himself, whatever it was he didn't really care. He had bumped into the girl maybe a few days ago, or at least something like that, time felt fuzzy here. He was surprised and thankful as well, Ace would go crazy if he was here alone. But the girl had way too much energy for his liking. She asked too many questions, yelled way too loud and wouldn't quit talking about revenge.
Nyx also had amnesia and had been running around for, they assumed, about how long Ace had. Neither of them had any clue on how they got there, and unlike Ace, it drove her crazy and she always made sure he knew that. She thinks someone put them in this place, took their memories, and if they travel far enough they'd find that person and make them pay. Nyx wholeheartedly believes she's important somehow, a celebrity or someone who changed the world, and she's needed. "Whoever had the audacity to put me in this never ending hellhole will pay!" She'd say. The two of them had teamed up, as far as Ace knew they were the only humans there. Even so, sometimes he wished they didn't, her thirst for revenge and energy annoyed him. Ace didn't understand her urgency, sure he wanted to go back home, wherever it was, but she never took a break.
One thing about wherever they were is that while time passed, their bodies didn't. The sun would rise and fall, yet Ace never got hungry, not even a stubble appeared on his face and he never got tired. Nyx didn't seem to either, though with how much she ran and screamed, Nyx probably photosynthesized. That's the only way she hasn't passed out by now.
"I said let's go! We're almost out of here, I can feel it!" She yelled again, before continuing to scurry away. Ace looked away from the sky and sighed before following her. She looked back, walking backwards, and tried to make conversation. He'd try to answer all of her burning questions, with as much enthusiasm as he could muster. After a while though, Ace wanted nothing more but to mute her.
"Do you like cats or dogs?"
"Dogs are cute but I've always preferred dogs. They-="
"What's your favorite color?"
"Sky blue, what's–"
"How about your favorite season? Mine's winter!"
"I like winter to– Wait, look behind you!" But before Nyx could stop herself, she fell. Ace ran forward, and looked down to see her dazed, a few feet down a slope. He slid to the bottom, anxiousness filling him, he wanted Nyx to shut up, not die. He examined her carefully, there didn't seem to be any bruises on her, no broken bones either. Other than her muttering, ow, to herself, Nyx seemed fine thankfully. A chill ran through his bones and he looked away from Nyx to see blankets of snow over the plains. A smile danced on his lips at the beautiful sight and then gestured for Nyx to look as well.
