Hello! This is a Dream SMP fanfiction but it's heavily inspired by an au drawn by Gazeebovibes on Twitter. Gazeebovibes has said they are okay with fanfic being written about their art so I decided to write this since I'm bored and have time to spare. All art in this fanfic is drawn by Gazeebovibes so go follow them! They are very talented.
Here are some other things you should know before reading: There is some swearing and gore in this fanfic. All the chapters will be from Tommy's P.O.V unless otherwise stated. In this story, Wilbur and Tommy are brothers. Chapters will likely be shorter and updated at least once or twice a week.
I think that's it! Enjoy!

"It's almost midnight, Wilbur," I said. He looked over his shoulder at me. His eyes shone brightly in the faint glow of the moonlight. He did not stop walking.
Yesterday, we arrived at a small rental cabin hidden in a large thicket of woods. Wilbur decided to stay here for a few weeks so Wilbur could record a new album with shots in the beautiful snow-capped mountains. I had decided to tag along as I had not had a chance to hang out with Wilbur in a very long time. Ever since he decided to move out and pursue his dream of becoming a full-time musician, we hadn't had a chance to catch up, especially after I later moved out myself to go to college.
Since the rest of the band wouldn't have arrived until later that day, Wilbur suggested we explore the woods in the backyard of the cabin to look for some good places to record. However, We couldn't find the perfect place and kept going deeper and deeper into the forest. We soon got so lost we couldn't find out way back. At this point, we had been wandering the woods for hours. Shadows now cast scary shapes in the forest while the chilly wind bit at my skin. Thinking about the darkness and cold that surrounded us, my mind started to wonder what would happen if we never found our way back to the cabin again.
"We'll get back eventually," Wilbur said as if he could read my mind.
"But that's what you have been saying for the past few hours," I replied.
I pulled out my phone and glanced at it for the 3rd time in the last 10 minutes. My phone illuminated my face and I had to squint my eyes against the bright light. A picture of me and Wilbur hanging out from when we were younger greeted me as I checked to see if we had service. Nope. Still no service. My phone battery was only at 10% now. Wilbur's phone had already died hours ago. Since my eyes were glued to the screen and not scanning the dark ground around me for danger, I failed to notice the large tree root sticking out from the ground until it was too late.
"Shit!" I exclaimed as I tripped over a root and fell face-first into the ground.
My mouth and eyes filled with dirt and I spat furiously at the ground, trying to rid my mouth of the awful stuff.
"Tommy, Are you ok?" Wilbur asked as he turned around and helped me up.
"I'll be fine as soon as we get out of this stupid forest," I muttered.
I brushed the dirt off my red and white shirt and we continued on. My ankle throbbed with each step and my stomach growled louder and louder with each passing minute. I hadn't had anything to eat since lunchtime. What if we never find our way back? The band would probably know something was up when we weren't at the cabin to greet them. However, the forest was vast and the chances of us being found out here were probably slim.
"Wait, isn't that the cabin over there?" Wilbur said, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I looked up. Through all the bushes and trees, I could faintly see a light illuminating the side of a small wooden cabin. We both looked at each other and smiled before trampling through the bushes to get to the cabin. When we finally got through most of the bushes and into the yard of the cabin, Wilbur suddenly stopped. I almost ran into him but stopped just in time.
"What's that?" Wilbur asked.
I peered beyond his shoulder. The yard was a decent-sized clearing filled with grass. At first, I didn't see anything wrong with the yard but then I noticed what Wilbur was staring at. To the left of the clearing was a large hole, so deep that it was pitch black inside.
"I don't think that hole was there yesterday," I said.
We both stared at the hole for a few seconds before Wilbur broke the silence.
"Dare you to get closer," Wilbur said with a playful smile on his face.
As I looked into the bottomless pit, I felt frozen in place. A cool breeze came from the mysterious hole, it smelled like burning hair. Faint strange noises that almost sounded like screams seemed to come from the hole too but I was sure it was just my imagination.
"What's wrong? Too scared?" Wilbur taunted.
Even though my instincts screamed at me to not do it, I swallowed my fear and crept closer to the hole. I stopped when I was a few feet from it and peered inside. There was nothing but cold empty darkness. A cool breeze came from the mysterious hole, it smelled like burning hair. Faint strange noises that almost sounded like screams seemed to come from the hole too but I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination anymore.
"What do you think-?" I started to say before I was cut off as the earth started to collapse beneath me.
What had been hard sturdy ground a second ago was now tumbling forward into the hole right before my very eyes.
"Wilbur! Help!" I barely managed to get out as I started to fall into darkness.
Wilbur darted forward and grabbed my wrist. His dark brown eyes were wide with surprise. I let out a small shriek as I dangled over the dark abyss for a few heart-stopping moments until Wilbur helped me up. We both stood there panting for a few moments, neither of us having the sense to back away from the hole.
"Well, that was a close call," Wilbur said.
As soon as he said that however, the earth fell away from my feet once more but this time Wilbur could not catch me as he was falling too. As we sank deeper and deeper into the darkness, I could only think one thing. So this is how I die. Instead of fear, however, I felt a strange sort of peace run through me and I closed my eyes.
