Hello non-existent Wattpad readers! Sorry, this was a little late. I started school again this week and forgot to publish this on Wattpad despite publishing it on other platforms. My bad!

"Tommy?" I hear a familiar voice ask.

"Tommy? Are you awake?" It asks again.

"Wilbur!?" I bolt upright and look around.

I feel a small stab of disappointment when I realize it was Tubbo and not Wilbur.

"Ugh, where am I?" I ask groggily.

"In my house. I found you on the street." He says.

"Oh. What time is it?" I wonder aloud.

"I'm not sure. I don't really bother keeping track of time anymore but you were out for a while." He tells me.

"Are you hungry?" Tubbo asks after a moment.

"Not really. Two people in the village gave me something to eat." I say.

Tubbo's face darkens.

"They weren't those gray people, were they?" He asks.

"They were pretty nice. They gave me some food and offered to let me stay in their spare bedroom." I say.

Tubbo shakes his head.

"Tommy, you have to be careful around here. The gray people may appear harmless, but they lure fallen humans in and eat them after they fall asleep." He informs me.

"What!?" I say in shock.

"So the meat they fed me. That wasn't... Was that...?"

"That was the meat of fallen humans. Fallen humans like you." He says.

"I'm a cannibal," I say in a quiet shocked voice.

"It wasn't your fault. Besides, I have news." Tubbo says.

I look over at him, still feeling horrified that I ate another human.

"I think I know where your brother went." He tells me.

"What? Where!?" I exclaimed, forgetting all about being a cannibal.

"One of my old friends said they saw him heading towards the smiling swamp."

Tubbo hesitated for a second as if debating whether to tell me something.

"He was limping a bit and looked dazed but I'm sure he will be fine." He says quickly.

"Well, let's go find him!" I said and started walking out the door.

"Wait, hold on!" Tubbo says.

I stop and look at him impatiently.

"The smiling swamps are dangerous. We have to try to reach your brother before he gets there but just in case, take this." He says and hands me something.

I inspect it. It's a long wooden sword. I frowned. Would a wooden sword really do much against those... things out there? At least it was better than nothing I supposed.

"Thank you. So, where are these shivering swamps?" I ask.

"Smiling swamp. Look over here." He says and gestures to a wall with a large map on it.

He points to the bottom right of it.

"This is where the smiling swamp is. I haven't been there for years." He mutters.

The swamp on the map looked dark and eerie. I shuddered. Hopefully, we could find Wilbur before he reached the swamp.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" I say and we start walking.

As we pass by the house with the gray people in it, I get the feeling I'm being watched. I turn around and look into the windows, expecting someone there but there's nothing. The house looked a lot homier & welcoming than any of the other houses despite it being occupied by what could have been my killers. I shudder and start walking a little faster.

We talk a little while we walk over silent fields and rocky hills. I soon start to get tired but I don't say anything. After a while, Tubbo noticed that I was having trouble keeping up and suggested we stop to rest for a while. We end up in a small empty field. I sit down and relax as Tubbo walks around a bit, looking for monsters.

"Hey, what's this?" Tubbo says.

"What's what?" I ask.

Tubbo holds something small and shiny up. It appears to be some kind of gold ring. He walks over and hands it to me.

"You can have it if you want. I heard that fallen humans really like shiny things like that. I think they call them jewelry or accessories or something like that." He says.

I shrug, dust it off, and put it in my pocket. I didn't see how it would help with anything but maybe it would be nice to have something bright in this dark place. After a few more minutes of rest and a quick snack of some reddish-orange berries Tubbo had in his pocket, we continued on our journey.

A really boring chapter, I know. I'm going to be publishing another chapter in 1-3 days though & I promise it's a lot more interesting.
