Oh boy. This chapter was a long one. I apologize because I only meant for it to be a few days late, but it ended up being over a week since so much has been going on for me. Credit to tomaye_ for the art used in this chapter.

The echo of the horn bounced around me and slowly grew fainter. DreamXD studied me closely for a minute before summoning a table complete with 2 chairs out of the floor. I would have been surprised beyond words, but I was too tense. Would the ones I had met down here hear my call? If so, what would they do? Would they turn a deaf ear to it? Or would they care? If they truly cared, what would they do? Would they risk venturing into the beyond?

With all these questions swirling in my head, I didn't notice when XD sat down and gestured to the empty chair on the other side of the table. Finally, he cleared his throat, and I looked up. I slowly walked over and sat down, feeling relieved I could rest my legs from walking in the darkness for so long. There was a large bowl of fruit and a jewel-encrusted goblet on the table filled with some kind of clear purple liquid.

I took a shallow sip of the liquid, then another. Before I knew it, I was quickly drinking the whole thing. It was some kind of grape soda, much like the ones back at home that Wilbur liked. I never really cared for it, but I was so thirsty, and it was so nice to be drinking something other than that disgusting water. Speaking of Wilbur, he was still watching me with hollow empty eyes from behind the bars. I noticed a cup of soda and a bowl of fruit next to him, but he didn't touch them. He wasn't saying anything. Just watching and waiting in suspense, much like me.

We waited. I don't know how long for. Could have been minutes, could have been an eternity. I'm not even entirely sure what we were exactly waiting for. Something. Anything. Any sign that someone down here did care about me. All to prove this full of himself god wrong. Wilbur soon fell into a restless sleep. He tossed and turned while snoring softly. I felt my eyes start to droop too, but I didn't let them close completely. I had to stay awake. Eventually, DreamXD slowly got up and started laughing.

"Well, Tommy. I guess nobody came after all." He chuckled.

I stared at the god. I didn't even feel upset that nobody cared, or that this god had tricked me into thinking Wilbur was gone just to lead me here to my death. I felt empty inside. I felt a small twinge of fear as DreamXD pulled out his axe once again, but I seem to have accepted my fate. This was it. Here I stop. And here I die. The sharp tip glinted menacingly in the light of the crystal chandeliers as DreamXD lifted it up and seemed to be admiring it.

"So, where were we again?" The god tilted his head in fake confusion. "Oh yeah." He finally said.

Quick as lightning, he lunged at me with his axe. I leaped away, but not in time. I gasped as I felt blood trickle down my arm from where the axe had cut me. A scream cut through the air. Surprised, DreamXD turned away from me to look at Wilbur, who had woken up and had been watching the whole thing. DreamXD made an exasperated sound.

"Your turn is coming, Wilbur. Be patient." He lectured sternly as if he were a parent and Wilbur was a child.

He turned his attention back to me. He gripped his axe, now coated in a thin layer of my blood, and once again rushed at me. The blade sliced against my cheek. I let out a shout of surprise and pain as my skin ripped open and blood splashed on the ground. DreamXD pushed me to the ground and I fell with a sickening crack as my jaw smacked hard on the tile floor. DreamXD raised his axe high and was about to bring it down when he was interrupted by Wilbur.

"Leave him alone you sick piece of shit!!!" Wilbur screamed at him.

DreamXD whirled around, looking annoyed.
