Sooo I just found out that the artist of all these works pretty much deactivated everything except for her Twitter account which I cannot for the life of me find. Luckily I have all the art saved on my computer but I'm so bummed I can't credit her properly. Oh well. If I ever manage to find her, I will link her profile here somewhere. Anyway on to the story!

I woke up in complete darkness. Am I dead? I think to myself. My head and ankle throbbed. Nope, definitely not dead. Where am I? As my eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, I could faintly make out tall dark shadowy trees all around me. Beneath me seemed to be some sort of gravel path. There was no wind rustling the leaves or birds singing in the branches here. It was very quiet here. Too quiet. I slowly got up and groaned. I dusted the dirt off my red hoodie as much as I could. I looked around for a moment.

"Hello?" I called out and cringed.

My voice cut through the air and into the silence all around me. Right as I was about to give up hope of receiving a response, a weak groan came from somewhere. I looked around for the source of the noise. About 20 feet away was a dark lump that looked almost human-like.

"Hello? Is someone there?" I whisper.

The dark lump stirs. I cautiously approach it. As I got closer, the lump looked more and more human. I pick up my pace and reach the lump.

"Wilbur?" I said, afraid it wasn't true and I was truly alone down here.

"Tommy?" It responded back in a low voice.

"Wilbur!" I exclaim and help him up.

"Ugh, everything hurts," Wilbur mumbled.

In the darkness, I could faintly make out a dark red liquid on Wilbur's head.

"Wilbur, you're bleeding!" I tell him.

Wilbur reaches up and rubs his hand over his dark hair. Sure enough, his hand comes away covered with blood.

"Great," Wilbur says.

Wilbur looks around for a moment.

"Where are we?" He asks.

"I don't know but it must be night still," I say.

I look up at the sky expecting to see some kind of light from the moon or the stars but there's nothing. Only pure darkness. I suddenly felt very uneasy. I look around the dense tangled forest and shudder.

"Wait, we fell down that hole but if we're far underground, how are there trees growing here?" I wonder aloud.

Wilbur doesn't respond. I look over at him and see that he is staring at something in the distance. At first, I didn't see anything but then I noticed a small dark shape slowly floating up and down as it got closer to us. I take a few steps closer to get a better view. I could tell it had 4 wings.

"Wilbur? What's that?" I ask.

Suddenly, the shape lets out a high-pitched shriek and zooms towards us. I run. I hear Wilbur running behind me. I risk a glance back and see that it's keeping up with us. It appeared to be a dark green fairy of some type except with claws for hands and a sinister smile on it's face that seemed impossibly wide. I ran faster, narrowly avoiding trees and roots.

My legs started to burn and my lungs screamed for air but I kept running. Right when I thought I couldn't run much farther, I burst out of the trees and into a large meadow. I look behind me but don't see the fairy. I stop running and gasp for air while I watched the forest, looking for any sign of the fairy.

"I think we lost it." I gasped.

That was when I realized Wilbur was not with me. I felt a sinking feeling in my chest.

"Wilbur?" I call out.

No reply. I turn around towards the meadow. The long dark grass rustled slowly in the breeze. In the distance was a huge mountain that stretched far into the murky dark sky. Behind it was some smaller mountains peeking out from the side of it. Where was I? I couldn't be underground, could I? It didn't really look like I was above ground either though. All of a sudden, there was a loud rustling noise behind me. I whip around and see Wilbur stumbling out of the forest, gasping.

"There you are!" I exclaim.

"Tommy, we have to get out of here." Wilbur gasps.

"What? Why?" I ask alarmed.

"There was something back there. I don't know what it was but it wasn't human." Wilbur says.

"It looked like some kind of fairy to me," I replied.

"No, not that. There was something else back there. It was tall and green. It didn't have any arms or eyes. It's guts and organs were exposed. When it saw me, it made some kind of awful high-pitched hissing noise. It even scared the fairy thing away." Wilbur said.

The fairy was one thing but this? I wasn't sure if I could believe it. Wilbur could have just seen a weirdly shaped tree and thought it was something else maybe?

"Come on Tommy. Let's go." Wilbur said and walked past me and into the meadow.

I was about to follow him when I heard a twig crack in the forest. I froze and scanned the trees. Suddenly I saw something. I don't know what it was but it was wearing light green clothes and some sort of skull mask with horns over its face.

"Tommy, Are you coming?" Wilbur said.

I turned my head to look at him and then looked back into the forest. The creature was gone. I shuddered and ran after Wilbur.

I haven't decided when the next chapter will be released. It's finished but I don't want to release chapters too fast. It will definitely sometime within the next 3-5 days or so.
