Minotaurs:
-Minotaurs are very unorganized in their warfare, relying on brute force and berserker tactics to terrify and overwhelm the enemy. Their weapons are a hefty utility/war axe called Ruk-Tong, though some have been known to carry a war hammer or a greatsword. While Minotaur mages are usually very skilled, not many of them use combat magic, as it is considered an afront to the Golden Dragon.
Werewolves:
-Werewolves hunt in packs, the Alpha always in the lead. The usual hunting formation forms the pack up in waves, the first one with the Alpha at the head, the last one being lead by the Beta who traditionally makes the final kill. This structure is their way of acknowledging that, although the Alpha is needed to lead the pack, the Beta is needed to keep the pack together. Werewolves do not usually like to use weapons, preferring to rely on their claws and teeth. However, it is not uncommon for Werewolves to use bows and even swords when in their human forms. Besides their ability to shed (as the werewolves call changing), Werewolves do not use magic, even in their everyday lives.
Lacertians:
-Lacertians are very sneaky and covert fighters. They use short, wide-bladed swords that can just as easily be used in combat as for clearing swamp vines and branches (machete design). Lacertians also have been known to use javelins and are expert marksmen with a bow. Experts with camouflage, the Lacertians are masters of blending into their environment, often using their own natural scale colors to hide them. Lacertians also like using traps, and they are skilled, though often crude, users of combat magic.
Elves:
-Elves prefer to keep their enemy at a distance, primarily utilizing bows, long spears and tightly formed spear formations. They are highly-organized and meticulous in their training and, besides the Leonin, are considered the best warriors known. Elves also rely heavily on combat magic, and they follow the same precision and exactness with their magic as they do with their physical combat.
Humans:
-Humans use a wide variety of weapons; swords, spears, sword/shield, bows & axes (though axes are not used in an official military capacity). They like to be adaptive and fluid on the battlefield, and they learn other races tactics and borrow what they will in order to better their own fighting styles. While not as skilled as the Leonin or Elves, human warriors are considered some of the better fighters in the land. Also, though not as precise, or elegant in its use as the Elves, humans are very proficient in combat magic.
-New Recruits in the Human army are known as Shiners, because of their shiny armor. Veterans tend to either possess worn and tarnished armor, or they intentionally smoke their armor to get rid of the shine.
Vampyres:
-For such an elegant people, Vampyres are savage, feral fighters. While a variety of weapons have been seen in the hands of the ancient creatures, in the end they prefer the simplicity and ruthlessness of their teeth and bare hands.
Leonin:
-The Leonin are a regal people, preferring swords and shields paired with plate-armor and chainmail. Archery is not typically a Leonin strong-point, neither is combat-magic, but their siege weapons are feared across the world. Leonin are a patient race, willing to lay siege to a city or country side for months or even years to achieve victory.
