"Why do 40 minutes feel so long?" Panted Miles, "I'm so out of breath!"

"I know, we are almost here though."
Said Johnny and in this moment the two boys noticed a tall, old looking house not so far away. In front of that house was a black, scary looking gate. The site gave Johnny and Miles the chills.

Soon they were standing right outside the gate. Johnny started to climb over it but Miles suddenly interrupted the process.

"I'm not going in, I'm not even climbing over that stupid gate Johnny."

"What?! Miles come on, don't be a party pooper!"

"Johnny look at it!" Miles pointed to the house, "its dangerous, who cares if it's fun, who knows what we will find there!"

"Oooooo, I see that someone is scared of.... GHOSTS!" Johnny jumped closer to Miles in hopes to scare him.

"ITS NOT FUNNY! Are u dumb or an idiot? What if there's drunk homeless people living there and all they want in life is two naive boys they can rob, or what if all the Serial killers who were never caught are hiding out here OR the most logical concern out of all of these is that the floor boards are so old and loose that they can collapse at any moment and we will die!"

Johnny knew that Miles was right but he was so sick of the usual boring weekends that he wanted to spice things up. He was going through like that rebel stage where he knew that people around him were right but he wanted to prove them wrong no matter what it required him to do.

"Look, I did not cycle for 40 minutes just for you to ruin any fun that was planned to happen, I'm going into that house no matter what you say!"

"I've warned you Johnny! I'm leaving without you and still be careful."

"I'll have fun without you looser!"

Johnny yelled out and climbed over the gate. He jumped down with a thud and looked at Miles one more time.

"Your missing out man!"

"Oh shut up! Your just digging yourself a grave into trouble."

"Your just salty that you don't have the guts to have real fun!"

Miles didn't have anything else to say, he turned around and cycles of into the distance. Johnny walked forward to the haunted house. As he got closer he started to regret all the mean words he said to Miles even though he was just looking out for him. He wanted to turn around and catch up with Miles and apologise but it was too late because he was already in front of the huge wooden door. Johnny pulled at the door handle and it swung open with ease and an awful sound.

Johnny turned on the flashlight on his phone as he walked in. Although it was bright outside, the inside of the mansion of a house was dark and gloomy. There was so much dust that you could even see it flying around. Cobwebs covered absolutely everything. All of the floor and ceiling and all of the antique furniture. Johnny walked forward and saw a huge stair case leading up to the second floor. It was quiet and honestly kind of peaceful.

Johnny climbed the stairs and on to the second floor. He entered a room which had what looked like millions of beds. They looked like old hospital beds and not to comfortable. Obviously, it was an orphanage, what did Johnny expect, no one ever has fancy beds at orphanages especially in 1976. The beds were covered in cobwebs and it was absolutely disgusting.

Suddenly, Johnny heard some noise from the other corner of the room. He pointed his flashlight towards it and in horror and shock watched a girl about the same age as him come out from what it looked like a wall. Johnny was confused, she didn't look like a ghost but it looked like she emerged from the wall. He watched her very attentively.

"Hey!" She said, she had a beautiful voice. The girl came closer and just then Johnny noticed that her feet lifted up from the ground and she kind off flew towards him. Johnny screamed in horror. He realised that she wasn't very much human. He took out pepper spray which he had in his pocket and weirdly didn't spray it at her like you do with a pepper spray but just threw the bottle at her. To Johnnies absolute horror it went right through her. It confirmed johnnies theory that she was a ghost. He started backing away and then she calmly said,

"Calm down, I don't want to hurt-"

She was cut of in the middle
Of her sentence because Johnny didn't realise that the stairs where behind him and he tumbled down to the very first floor while hitting his head hard on each step.

The girl levitated down the steps with a worried look on her face. She looked at the unexpected guest just to see that he was unconscious. She'd take care of him.

But she isn't real.Where stories live. Discover now
