Johnny stood at the front door of his house. He knew what was about to come. Yelling, fighting, more yelling and crying. He dreaded it but he just couldn't help the urge of seeing Jenni. He got all his courage in one fist and knocked at the front door. The lock quickly turned and Mr Wilson opened it. It was unusual since dad never opened doors. Johnny came in, his head down, he just wanted to get over the yelling and go to his room like usually but that's not what happened.

"Son talk to us, come on, tell us everything that has been happening, please, we know you never came to school today but we aren't going to shout at you, there will be consequences later but now just tell us what's your problem, what is on your mind? We were teenagers too you know." Absolutely calm spoke dad. Johnny looked at him and than at mom, she was sitting behind the kitchen table, he looked at her so she would say something but she just nodded and smiled.

"Spit it out son."

But Johnny couldn't just spit it out. How will his parents believe that he has been hanging with ghosts and is in love with a girl that isn't alive and will be gone tomorrow. Wait... TOMORROW?! Johnny realised that tomorrow was 10th of may 2003 and the day of the ritual. He stood in Horror, Jenni will be gone tomorrow?

"We're listening, please." Worriedly said mom.

"I- I don't know how to explain, it's all so complicated right please just I-"

" you need space?" Questioned dad, " we can tell your going through a tough time, when you will be ready please come and speak to us, you can take a day off of school tomorrow if your mental health is struggling just we need you to trust us."

"Yes thanks guys, I'll explain soon I just need Time to think."

Johnny hugged both his parents and went up to his room, then he remembered and called out to mom.

"Mum when is the sun rising tomorrow?"

"Oh like at 4 am."

"Thanks mum!"

Johnny shut the door behind him. What?! He had to wake up at 2am? And what about Miles? He needs to take Miles with him either way. John called Miles. He didn't answer 2 times but the third time worked. No wonder they say 3 times is the charm.

"Hello?"

"Miles I am sorry, I agree, I've been selfish lately and you did everything and always supported me and I know you need my support as-well, i apologise and We'll catch soon but there's this thing, tomorrow is the ritual day."

"WHAT?! I've forgotten about the ritual, oh and yes I also apologise I didn't see you were struggling, like you said we will catch up later."

"Great! Mom told me that usually the sun rises at 4 am, be ready with your bike and all at 3 am."

"Damn that's harsh but it will be done!"  And Miles hung up. Johnny changed into Pyjamas, even though it was only 6pm he wanted to go to bed so that there was more time to sleep. Soon Johnny began dozing off to sleep.

His alarm clock squealed at 2:50 am and Johnny practically flew out of bed to turn it off. He tapped on the clock and it finally shut up. He didn't realise it was so loud. It was his first time using the alarm clock that his parents bought for his 12th birthday. He listened closely, there wasn't any sound or rummaging meaning that his parents weren't awake.

"Few!" Johnny breathed a sigh of relief and then got dressed, brushed out his hair and his teeth. Then he crept down the stairs trying to be as quiet as possible. He exited his house and cycled over to Miles who's house was one 2 blocks away.

Miles was already standing with his bike but he did look sleepy. Johnny didn't stop ,he passed Miles and said:

"Hey, dude catch up!"
