His heart was racing. His heart was hurting. He could hardly breathe. He gasped for air.

Jungwon knew that he needed to get to hospital fast.

He held onto his chest, which hurts like hell, and tried to console himself. He felt weaker and weaker as he felt the life almost draining out of him.

He was no longer moving as his eyes gently began to close. He was in the arms of the person he loved the most, that's all that mattered to him. If he died in Niki arms, so be it.

06:08 am

Niki woke up. He felt strange. He felt the urge to check on Jungwon, so that's what he did. He gently shook Jungwon, but of course, he got no response.

At first, he thought Jungwon was just in a deep slumber, so he shook him again with a little more force. Still, no response.

Niki started panicking as he fully got up and checked for a pulse.

Shit, it's low

"No, No! This can't be happening!"

He felt like his world came crashing down as he held the hands of the person dearest to him. It was pale, thin and cold.

A tear slipped out of his eyes as he rushingly took the smaller boy into his embrace and rushed downstairs. He quickly put on his big furry coat onto Jungwon, since he didn't know where Jungwon kept his coats.

He didn't bother putting on a coat on himself, since he cared about Jungwon's state right now.

It was a freezing morning, the sky was grey and dull. It was like the sky had also understood Jungwon's situation and empathised with it.

With the remaining bit of his energy, he started up his car, while gently placing Jungwon in the backseat, making sure he was secured to not fall off. He then dashed towards the driver seat and revved up the car, before taking off.

15 minutes later

Niki already had tears streaming down his face. He immediantly took Jungwon into his arms and ran to the entrance of the hospital. There, he was greeted with serveral doctors and nurses, already panicking at seeing Jungwon state.

"Guys! Over here! Please help him!"

Niki could hardly get the words out. Jungwons pale state horrified him and he wanted only the best for his lover.

Jungwon got rushed into the ER and Niki had been told to wait outside. Of course he objected several times but still, they didn't allow him to enter.

He sat on the chair whilst digging his hands in his pockets to find his phone.

He then dialed Jay's number and quickly called him.

Jay:"Niki, it's literally 6 in the morning, why are you calling me?"

Niki:"J-jay"

Jay:"Omg Niki, are you crying?"

Niki:"Please come to the hospital, Jungwon is in critical condition"

Jay:"What?! Okay, I'll come over, I'll being the others with me too"

End of phone call

Niki shut his eyes forcefully and tightly. No matter how much times he tried to stop his tears from flowing, it didn't work. He hated the fact that Jungwon had to go through this, all alone.

Suddenly, Niki quickly remembers his aunt.

How come Jungwon aunt hadn't contacted Jungwon for a while now?

He didn't even know if his aunt knew Jungwons condition.

After a couple of tries, he finally was able to dial Jungwons aunt number.

Niki:"Hello?"

Aunt:"Hello, who is this?"

Niki:"Hi, this is Niki, Jungwon boyfriend"

Aunt:"He has a boyfriend?!"

Niki:"Oh you didn't know?"

Aunt:"Well, actually no, how did you get my number?"

Niki:"That's not important, Jungwon is in hospital right now, he's in critical condition"

Aunt:"Really? I expected it anyways"

Niki:"What the hell, you aren't worried?"

Aunt:"Well, I figured that if he's dying soon, I won't have to put up with him, so I just left"

Niki:"WHAT THE HELL?! You're evil!"

Aunt:"Whatever, I gotta go, best wishes to Jungwon, although I'm not going to say that he may make it"

Niki out of anger hung up the phone.

"Who does that woman think she is?! Jungwon literally thought of her as his own mum!"

Soon, he heard a ramble of footsteps heading his direction.

He looks up to see all his friends, including Sunoo and Heeseung.

Sunoo:"Where's my wonnie?! Is he Okay?"

Niki tried to calm Sunoo down but it only got worser.

Sunoo:"NO, I need to see him!"

Sunghoon ran and quickly backhugged Sunoo, leaving him and everyone else speechless.

Sunghoon then whispers in his ears, trying to sooth him, which appeared to work.

Sunghoon:"Sunoo, calm down hm? I'll assure you that we'll get to see Jungwon but we have to be patient"

Everyone watched in astonishment as Sunoo immediantly calmed down.

Sunoo turned around and buries his face into the crook of Sunghoon's neck, letting his tears flow freely.

Everyone was miserable as Niki began to explain to them what led Jungwon in this condition.

Jake:"WHAT?! He has lung cancer?!"

Everyone eyes widened as Sunoo and Heeseung both eyed each other with pity.

Heeseung:"Mhm, it's been a while now"

Sunoo nodded as he had finally regained himself.

Sunghoon sighed.

Sunghoon:"He was suffering this whole time..."

They all looked down empathetically. They felt the need to protect Jungwon at all cost, all the could do was to pray for his health.

Niki looked at each one of his friends and sighed.
