Yeonjun's POV

I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. The evening breeze filtered through my open window, but it did nothing to cool the irritation boiling inside me. I had wanted to go out with my friends today, but thanks to that brat, I was stuck here instead.

I sighed, rubbing my temple. It shouldn’t bother me this much.

A knock on my door pulled me from my thoughts. My mom stepped inside.

“Jun! We have to go to Aunt Yang’s for dinner. I forgot to tell you this morning. It’s already 5 PM, so get ready. We’re leaving at 6,” she said.

“Alright,” I replied, dragging myself off the bed.

As soon as she left, I grabbed my phone and opened Instagram, scrolling absentmindedly—until a certain post caught my eye.

Mark had posted a picture.

He and Hyein sat together at a restaurant, Mark smiling at her like they shared some private joke. The caption? A simple “🤍”

A heart? What the hell?

I sat up straight, my grip tightening on my phone. Why did Mark post this? And why did he tag her?

Wait.

Were they… dating?

I scoffed, shaking my head. No way. Hyein would’ve mentioned something, right? Still, the image gnawed at me, my stomach twisting. Before I could think about it any further, my mom called out again.

“Jun, you can drive, right?”

“Yeah, but what about Dad?” I asked.

“His secretary will drop him off. Let’s go now.”

I pocketed my phone and followed her out.

At Hyein’s House

“Mom, you go ahead. I’ll park the car,” I said as we arrived.

She nodded and went inside while I pulled into the driveway. Just as I turned off the engine, the sound of a motorcycle caught my attention. I glanced up, only to see Hyein on the back of a bike.

I froze.

She leaned slightly forward, laughing at something. The guy in front of her—who the hell was he?

Her hand rested lightly on his shoulder as they pulled up next to my car. My jaw clenched.

She never rode on a bike with me.

The moment she spotted me, her expression shifted. “Isn’t that Yeonjun?” she asked the guy.

The guy took off his helmet and turned.

Mark.

Of course.

“Hey, Yeonjunnie,” Mark greeted as he walked up to me, a knowing smirk on his face. “You must’ve been bored today.”

I forced a scoff. “Yeah, right.”

He glanced at me, then at Hyein. His smirk deepened.

“You should’ve come. We had a great time,” he added casually.

I didn’t miss the way he emphasized great.

Before I could respond, Hyein shivered slightly. “Let’s go inside. It’s freezing.”

She grabbed Mark’s wrist and pulled him along.

I stood there for a moment, gripping my car keys a little too tightly.
