Yeonjun's POV:
These guys-always teasing me because of that little devil, Hyein! She's been a thorn in my side since forever. Our parents are practically glued together, and somehow, we've been dragged into their friendship chaos. I'm technically a year older than her, but thanks to my family's move to the States and the school system, I got delayed. Now, we're in the same class. Lucky me, huh?
Walking into the classroom with my friends, I immediately spotted Hyein sitting at her desk-right next to mine, as usual. She was scribbling something, probably her plans for world domination. I had barely sat down when a boy from another class appeared in front of her, looking like he was about to explode with nerves.
"Hyein, I really like you. Will you go out on a date with me?" he blurted out.
I froze. Wait, what?
Hyein looked like she had been hit by lightning. Just as I was about to enjoy the chaos, Ha Yoon swooped in like a tornado.
"Hyein, can I copy your homework? Wait, who's this?" she asked, eyeing the boy suspiciously.
I smirked, sensing an opportunity. "Looks like someone's getting proposals first thing in the morning," I said, loudly enough for half the class to hear.
"Ooh," Ha Yoon gasped dramatically. "But you must not know, she already has a boyfriend."
"W-what?" Hyein stammered, turning red.
The poor kid looked like he'd just been told Santa wasn't real. "Oh, I'm sorry," he muttered before bolting out of the room.
"So, you have a boyfriend now? Poor guy, he doesn't know what he's signed up for," I teased, leaning back in my chair.
"Yeonjun, don't start! Not this early in the morning," Hyein snapped, glaring at me.
"Whatever," I replied, pretending not to care, but honestly, her annoyed face was my favorite form of entertainment.
"Yaa, are you seriously not going to give me your notebook?" Ha Yoon whined, throwing in her best puppy eyes.
"Do it yourself, honey," Hyein replied, not even looking up.
"What an ungrateful little-Yaa, I just saved you from that awkward proposal!" Ha Yoon huffed.
"Fine, fine! Take it and leave," Hyein said, tossing her notebook at Ha Yoon.
"That's my girl," Ha Yoon said smugly, skipping away with her prize.

From behind, Mark, the king of unnecessary commentary, decided to chime in.
"Hyein, you already have a boyfriend? I thought you and Yeonjun were dating. Poor Yeonjun," he said, grinning.
"WHAT?!" Hyein shrieked, nearly jumping out of her chair.
"Yaa! Why would you even think that?" Yeonjun barked, looking utterly betrayed.
"You looked sad just now," Mark said, smirking even wider.
"When?! Show me the CCTV footage!" Yeonjun snapped, his voice going up an octave.
"Why don't we take this to the rooftop?" Yeonjun said, glaring at Mark with the fakest smile imaginable.
"Hyung, relax! I was just messing around!" Mark said, hands raised in mock surrender.
"Oh, now it's 'hyung'? Where was that respect two minutes ago?"
"If you keep this up-" Yeonjun started threatening.
"Hyung, I promise! Lips sealed!" Mark cut him off, miming a zipper across his mouth.
"why don't we walk home together, Mark?" Hyein asked sweetly, glaring daggers at him.
Mark froze. "Look! The teacher's here!" he exclaimed, ducking his head like he was suddenly the most studious kid in the room.
Mark's POV:
That was close. Too close. Thank you, teacher, for being my accidental savior.
