"What in the world?!" Ethan screamed as two ladies came into his view when he woke up.

The two, both wearing white dresses, snapped their faces into him. The only difference between the was that the other one was holding a dagger, its blade was in a shape of a feather, but in contrast to ordinary metal daggers, this dagger in front of his eyes was glass like and it was aimed at him whereas the other girl tried to pull the other one away from him. Understanding the situation that the dagger was aimed to stabbing him, he rolled off his bed seconds before the dagger has stabbed his pillow where his head once was seconds ago.

"Siraia! No!" Screamed the frustrated Fantasia.

"You have risked the exposure of our kind into this mere human and you wanted me to spare him?!" Siraia fired back, angry.

"He does not know anything until you barged in shifting and trying to stab him with your dagger!"

"Have you long forgotten what their kind did to us Fantasia? Have you forgotten what they did to you? Should I remind you?!" Fantasia remained silent as she takes in her sister's words. Her head hanged low. "You have dared approached another human and even letting your guards down!"

"W-what's happening here? Who are you two?! How did you get in?" The confused Ethan asked the two.

Siraia looked at him like he was a joke before glancing back at Fantasia who remained staring at the floor and unmoving. "Ah, is it his voice that caught you my little sister? Or is it the eyes? After all this time."

Watching and listening to the two, Ethan could feel the heavy atmosphere.

"Ethan?" A voice outside Ethan's room rang as a panic knock over the door filled the room. "Open the door Ethan."

Glancing at the two, Ethan went for the door and into the hall where his worried mother and his butler was standing along with two guards.

"Are you okay? What was that loud voices in your room?" His mother asked as she tried to past by his son and was about to push the door open but was stopped by her son.

"Everything is fine mama. I was just... listening to some old recordings the local network has replayed."

"Listening?"

"Yes. Listening to the radio." He confirmed, giving a smile as genuine as he can.

But his mother is really persistent. She pushed him sideways and entered his room.

Ethan's heart was about to jump out of his ribcage as he followed his mother but it dropped down when he saw his room clean and the door towards his terrace was open, the curtains were dancing with the air and the two ladies who were bickering earlier was nowhere to be seen.

The moment that Ethan went out of the room, Siraia and Fantasia heard a crow crowing. Stepping towards the balcony, Siraia could feel the wind's wild blows as she saw a group of crows flying from a far.

And crows were never a good sign.

For them demi-humans, they can penetrate and feel the emotion of the wind and as of the moment, it felt like sharp nails was grazing her skin. It was unsettling.

"The wind," Fantasia whispered now standing beside her sister, as she herself felt the sharpness of the wind as well.

"We need to leave." Siraia said in urgency before willing her dagger to disappear. Willing her own to shift into her dove self, within seconds a calm glow of white light wrapped around her as it made it look like she twirled on her spot before finally turning into a dove. And the moment she did, she immediately flew away.

Glancing at the door where Ethan went out, Fantasia took a deep breath and willed herself to be a dove again and the moment that the doorknobs clicked she flew and followed her sister.

Flying out of the City of Nity, Fantasia and Siraia passed by the port feeling the sea wind blowing on them, it was heavy. The blue skies from afar were also starting to fade away and were slowly replaced by heavy grey clouds.

Flying above the clouds for a shortcut the two caught sight of the glowing spiral cloud all alone and away from the sight of humans.

"Siraia it's dangerous!" Fantasia shouted as she followed meters away from her sister.

Entering the glowing spiral cloud is indeed dangerous for them, either they get trap inside or they'll come out of a random place.

"I saw a spiral near the Island of Erstwhile earlier when I flew after you! We might end up there!" Siraia replied as she entered the glowing spiral of cloud, and Fantasia followed suit as she closed her eyes.

Entering the glowing spiral cloud that serves as their portal, the two could feel their soul being ripped, from Fantasia's point of view, she could see her sister in her human form and in dove form separating. It was an unstable place. It was nauseating for them. Their screams echoed at the whole place as they dropped. But the moment that they went out of the portal, everything was normal, except for their hazy senses.

But upon Siraia spotted their Island disappearing till their cave, she forced herself to fly faster despite the fact that all she wanted to do was lay down and sleep.

"Fantasia hurry!" Siraia shouted as she looked back and saw her sister still meters away from her.

"I am!" Fantasia flapped her wings faster as well or else she'll lose the island.

Second by second. Flap by flap. The island of Erstwhile was now slowly swallowing the cave into disappearance starting from the ground, gone was the other parts of the island.

Almost there. Flying faster, Siraia twisted herself so she could enter the cave. "Fantasia faster!" Siraia shouted as she entered the cave and seeing her entering the cave, Fantasia felt her heartbeat accelerating as she watch the mouth of the cave disappearing. Just an inch away from the very tip of the cave Fantasia drew closer so with her eyes closed she twisted herself in and into the cave.

Letting out a deep breath while still flapping her wings, Fantasia opened her eyes to see the ancient carvings of the cave's wall but ahoi. She turned around, she looked up and down, left and right. There was no sight of the cave's wall's ancient carvings nor the cave itself, or the trees and exotic flowers sitting outside the cave. All she could see was the unending sight of the deep blue ocean.

Heart pounding so loud and fast, her wings gave up and she fell. She was expecting the coldness of the water, but instead, she fell into a plank of wood creating a thud. But not enough for the people below to hear who were all busy discussing and regretting of how they didn't had the chance to step a foot on the mythical jumping island called Island of Erstwhile before it completely disappeared.

And it was never a good sign for the demi-humans who lived in the island in peace for hundreds and thousands of years. Because humans seeing the Island of Erstwhile in action, they will never stop looking and believing that they do still exist, and someone out there will look and hunt them down, someone with an uncanny smile.

"Erstwhile. It's been a while, may will we see each other again soon." He said to himself with a smirk as he watches the ocean as if the island was still there.
