I finally landed in LA. It felt like I was gonna be on the plane forever. The seats were comfortable, but it's hard to enjoy a flight to your doom with a crying baby and an annoying business man around you.
I am about to live with my brother Dustin and honestly I am not liking this idea. It's not that I don't love my brother, there are just things that happened in our past that made it the way we are.
Anyway, after the plane landed I got off quick and went to baggage claim. I waited for the one suitcase I brought with me. Everything else Dustin took on the back of the bus. I stayed behind a few extra days to say goodbye to all my friends. I grabbed my bag as soon as I saw it and went straight through the crowd of people to the front. I got into the first cab I saw.
"Where to miss?" the cab driver asked. He smelled of tobacco and mint.
"Um.." I said. I was not ready to see Dustin yet or my new home. "Know any good coffee shops around here?" I asked. The driver nodded and started to drive off. I just watched everything go by as the driver drove into LA. He went through some freeways and honked at some people. I watched as the money went up and up. By the time he stopped in front of a coffee shop the machine had said I owed over a hundred dollars. I gave him my credit card and waited as he did what he needed to do. "Thank you." I said as I took the card back and got out of the cab. I stood there and watched as the cab drove away.
I walked into the coffee shop with my suitcase. A few people looked at me and then back to their coffee. Those who didn't, well they just didn't care. I walked over to the front counter. There as a noise of a door opening and footsteps behind me. I ignored the person and ordered a coffee and a muffin. When I got my order I went to a small table in the corner, away from people.
"Excuse me?" someone said. I looked up to see a blond with leopard sunglasses on his face.
"Nice sunglasses." I said.
"Thanks. This is my table." the guy said.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"That table. It is mine." he said.
"I don't see your name on it." I said.
"Well, it doesn't have my name on it, but I sit there every time I come in." he said.
"Well, you can have it when I am done with it." I said. I watched as he slid the chair across from me and sat down. "Excuse me? What do you think you are doing?"
"Sitting." he said.
"Find a different-" I started to say, but I was cut off when my phone went off. The ID said it was Dustin. I rolled my eyes and hit answer.
"Where are you?!" Dustin asked.
"Well hello to you too big brother." I said.
"Where are you?" Dustin asked again.
"At a coffee place drinking coffee and eating a muffin." I said.
"Are you in LA?" Dustin asked.
"Yes." I said, not saying what I really think.
"Get here." Dustin said and hung up. I sighed and looked at the guy that rudely sat at the table sit there and drink his coffee.
"Hey leopard boy.. can I have a ride?"
