You Mean It? I mean....

If you noticed the prologue says Dustin was on tour when he got the call, but in the last chapter Kendall says he was in Kendall's home studio.. I had to change some things. Hope you all understand.

I woke up to the sun shinning in my face. I sighed. I didn't want to get up, but I had a good reason.

Today I am 17. Today is my birthday, the first birthday without my mom.

We had plans for today. We were going to go get our hair and nails done. Do some shopping, finding perfect outfits. And throw a party like as she says 'every 17 year old needs a party for their birthday'.

None of that will be happening today.

There was a knock on my door. I groaned and covered my head with my blanket. I closed my eyes tight and waited. The knocking stopped and I sighed again.

"Cassie?" I heard Katelyn say from the other side of the door.

"Yeah?" I said.

"Can I come in?" Katelyn asked.

"Sure." I said, uncovering my head. Katelyn opened the door. Dressed in Dustin's shirt and pajama pants. I rolled my eyes. "I can see you spent the night."

"He is my boyfriend." Katelyn said, blushing.

"You wanted something?" I asked, sitting up.

"Yeah, Dustin told me that today is your birthday." Katelyn said.

"Yeah, it is." I said. I looked out the window. "If he sent you in to ask you what I want to do today the answer is nothing."

"He didn't send me in. He is in the kitchen pigging out on the bacon I made him." Katelyn said. I rolled my eyes. "Why don't you want celebrate it?"

"Me and my mom had plans." I said.

"What kind of plans?" Katelyn asked.

"Getting our hair and nails done, then doing shopping for new party clothes, and then having a party." I said.

"Well, I don't about the party part, but if you wanted I could go with you to get your hair and nails done and go shopping." Katelyn said. "I would never want to replace your mom, but I don't think she would want you spending your birthday in your room."

"No, she wouldn't." I said.

"She would want you to be doing what you planned. I know we haven't really gotten to know each other, but I would love to go do that with you." Katelyn said.

"Really?! You mean that?! I mean..." I said, running my hand through my hair. Katelyn laughed.

"Yeah I mean that. Be ready to go in an hour?" Katelyn said. I nodded my head and she started to walk away. "Oh and I might have some other girls join us, but I promise you will like them." Katelyn said and she left before I could say anything. I got up and went to my closet, looking for an outfit for today. It's always so hot in LA.

Maybe today won't be as bad as I thought. Maybe I will enjoy it.
