"Hey have you guys seen my knife anywhere", You called out to Eld and Gunther as they had their morning chat before training.

"So rookie isn't perfect after all", Gunther mused, making you roll your eyes.

"Have you seen it or not?"

"No, haven't seen it", He answered, before taking another sip of his hot drink.

"Same here, maybe you should keep track of your stuff better, then you won't lose it", Eld mocked.

"What are you? My mother? I keep very good track of my things", You argued, crossing your arms over your chest.

"Then how did you lose your knife", Gunther questioned with an amused look in his eyes.

Eld snickered while you glared at the pair, "It isn't lost...Just misplaced",

At least I hope so...

They both let out mocking laughs as you sat along the stairs letting out a low huff while you looked into the distance. It was a dreary morning, with grey clouds rolling over the horizon.

Just like most people you didn't really like the rain. You preferred when the weather was warm, as you spent many nights as a child laying under the stars dreaming of a future where you would no longer have to feel the grassy plain beneath you.

Sometimes you could even predict when rain would hit-You'd wake up in a cold sweat, unable to fall back asleep and within a few hours rain would fall from the sky. Unfortunately, thats what brought you out so early this morning. It was a simple gift that you had developed during your childhood.

Adapting was the only way you could survive so long in Marley. Early childhood memories of you and Kai clung together as water splashed on your torn clothing came to mind as you looked up at the large rain cloud.

Soon enough, your comrades conversation brought you out of your thoughts, "-In the end, we couldn't find a soldier who used their device without permission", Gunther sighed as you sat with your head resting against a railing, "Just who in the world-"

"Who knows", Eld cut in, "I'm more worried about the recruitment assembly right now. I wonder how many would be eccentric enough to enlist."

"Hey Rookie, are any of your comrades planning to enlist with us", Gunther asked looking over at you.

If they were smart they wouldn't. But with Eren here it was a done deal for at least four of them...

You were sure Sasha and Connie would make their way to the MPs-Or so you hoped. And Jean was a complete mystery, but with what Connie said the other day it seemed like the cocky bastard was actually thinking about joining the scouts.

"I think a couple", You answered after a while before turning your head as Levi arrived on his horse.

"Get ready to leave", he muttered shortly.

"Yes, sir", Eld and Gunther exclaimed as they stood at attention. You remained in your spot as he sent you a look, making you reluctantly get up.

"Good morning, Captain", Eren greeted as he took a spot beside you.

"Listen, Eren. Stay within two horses of me", The man ordered, "Don't forget the only reason you're not locked up is because I'm supervising you."

"Yes, sir", He nodded nervously.
