CONT. PARADIS YEAR 850
└───*̥˚───*̥˚┘

JEANS POV

His eyes stayed glued to your figure as your chest rose and fell softly. You remained still underneath the thin blanket that was placed over you once you got out of surgery.

It's been about a week since coming back from Shinganshia and you hadn't shown any signs of waking up—Which left him and the others feeling hopeless about your condition.

His gaze left your body as the door creaked open slightly, "Has she woken up yet?", Hange questioned with a hopeful glint in their eye.

"No", Levi grunted out shortly as he sat in the chair besides Jean.

Their shoulders fell as they let out a low sigh, "I'm sure she will, she's a fighter—Stronger than all of us", They tried to reason.

"I want to kill him", The Captain spit out causing Jean to clench his jaw at the confession.

He had never related to the captain more than this moment. He wanted to see all those responsible pay for what had happened to you.

"I know", Hange nodded as they took a spot beside the window.

Levi brought his head into his hands as he muttered, "I shouldn't have let him get away. I should have—"

"Should of what?", Hange cut in, "Pushed her out of the way? Gotten yourself killed? She wouldn't have wanted that."

"She wouldn't be in here if I would have just done my job", He explained with an annoyed sigh.

"She's in here because she willingly followed everyone to battle. She knew what she was getting into by joining that fight with you".

"The Commander is right", Jean sighed, gaining their attention, "No need to blame yourself Captain. Have a little faith in her. Like Hange said she's a fighter, she'll pull through..."

His words seemed more like wishes then stating the obvious—But no amount of negativity was going to help fix your wounds.

"I think she would rather her arm be ripped off a thousand times before admitting defeat. She just needs more time", Hange chimed in before a knock was heard on the door.

Turning their attention to the sudden noise they were met with a few familiar face, "Can we come in", Connie questioned as he peaked his head through the small opening.

"We brought flowers", Armin smiled gently as he followed the boy into the room.

"And food", Sasha added before Eren and Mikasa closed the door.

"She's not up yet", Jean spoke lowly, turning to look at the group with sunken eyes.

"When do they think she'll wake up?", Eren questioned as he turned to look at your unconscious figure with concern.

"Could be days, weeks, months...Who knows, it depends on her", Jean answered with a shrug.

Everyone was quiet for a moment before Armin broke the silence, "That's okay, she'll wake up soon enough", He cheered softly, trying to calm the tension.
