MARLEY YEAR 853
╚══ ❀•°❀°•❀ ══╝"You're starting to resemble Father a bit", Eren heard a voice chuckle as he leaned against the brick wall. Turning his head he was met with Zeke's tall frame as it walked through the hospital entrance. The man looked around curiously before setting his eyes on his little brother, "I thought part of our deal was that Weber would be here", He added, looking around to find her absence.
Eren sent him a shrug, trying to gauge his reaction,"She's more stubborn than you'd imagine. I couldn't convince her to stay...Not without fucking up our plans for later", He answered simply, disregarding the fact that he was thankful the girl turned down his request—He was still unsure what his brother wanted from her after all.
"I see", The blond hummed, slight disappointment settling on his face, "Well there's nothing we can do about it now...Anyways, thanks for coming here to talk with me. My stance is exactly what Yelena told you. Do you support the Eldian euthanization plan?"
Eren's gaze remained forward as he answered, "Four years ago, some of Dad's memories opened up to me—Memories of when he slaughtered the wall's royal family. He crushed their little kids and smeared them like bugs. I felt it, too", He hissed, "If those kids lived, the royal family would retake the Founding Titan. Bound by the vow renouncing war, humanity in the walls would be doomed....Those kids dying is what let us live."
"I see", Zeke whispered, "...So you believe that Father was right?"
"No, he was wrong", Eren grunted, "And I, the son that he raised, was wrong, too. If Eldians hadn't been born, this city—These people wouldn't have to die in this plan of ours."
"There's no greater salvation than never being born in this world", Zeke muttered, causing a memory of the brunettes mother to pass through his mind. She had expressed the opposite position on the matter of living in this world—Something Eren had taken to heart.
"I'll do it. I'll put an end to 2,000 years of Titan domination. Until then, I keep moving forward. Right, Brother?", Zeke continued taking Eren out of his thoughts.
"Yeah", He nodded, "Yeah, you're right. Let's do it."
"I wish I could shake your hand, but it's best that we don't make contact just yet", Zeke advised, "So instead, take this", he offered, lifting up a baseball, "Eren, we're gonna save everyone."
The ball flew through the air, landing right beside the teen as he looked at it with a passive gaze, "Whoops, went right past me", He grunted, lowering himself to pick up the worn ball, "Must be from the eye."
"Right...", Zeke trailed off, "...It's not problem."
It was silent for a moment before Eren let out a low sigh, "Hey, you mentioned that your mentor was obsessed with researching all about titans and this ability of ours...Did he mention anything about the Ackermans? About how their power works, and if a side effect is Headaches?"
"Headaches? I never heard anything from Ksaver or the researchers about an illness specific to the Ackermanns", Zeke thought, his face pulling up as he tried to find an answer, "But records show their power awakens when their survival instinct is triggered."
"Thats what I figured", He huffed softly, pulling at his brothers curiosity.
"Why are asking", He prodded, "Does it have anything to do with that scary Captain of yours?...Or the girl?", The light cough the teen let out caused a grin to fall on the older brothers lips, "I see. So it has something to do with the raven haired beauty."
"I was with her the day her powers were activated", Eren sighed, feeling as though he wasn't going to get out of the conversation without explaining himself, "Ever since then she's been hell bent on protecting me...And I didn't know if her actions were out of her own volition or if its a reflex because she sees me as some kind of host that's chained her to obey the Ackerman curse."
