Remember the school from Matilda? This is them now.

Well, that's an overly ominous building, Tommy thought, wrapping the cloak tighter around himself.

It was huge, painted black, and covered in shadows in a "look at me I'm mysterious and definitely have cool stuff inside!" way.

The darkened training centre reminded him of the school in a movie, he watched with Ranboo a few months ago.

He hadn't been exited to see the movie cause it was pretty old and seemed like those "power of friendship" type shows.

But Ranboo had really wanted to watch it, apparently he had read the book or something, and he promised it wasn't at all bad.

Because life had really wanted to fuck him over, it was only showing in a fancy rich person cinema, and was stupidly expensive, so they had to sneak into it.

It took him, Tubbo and some random kids on the street he managed to rope in, but they managed it.

Personally, he didn't think the movie itself was worth the trouble, but it was the happiest he had seen his friend in a while, which made up for the boring movie entirely.

Tommy jumped as a hand was suddenly placed on his shoulder, snapping him out of the memory, before Agaric blocked his view of the centre.

"Did you hear anything I just said?" asked Agaric.

"Uhh, yes! definitely! Of course! Mhm, I most certainly, 100%, heard everything you said and-"

"Alright, you could've just said no. I asked for my cloak back."

"Oh. yeah, sure." He didn't really want to give it back, this was high quality fabric, the kind of stuff he could only ever dream of affording, but it wasn't worth the risk to keep it.

Shrugging off the green fluff, Tommy turned back towards the building.

"So, this is the great and wonderful, state of the art training centre, huh?"

"Yeah."

"Can we go inside?"

"In a few minutes, yes."

"Why not now?"

Agaric ignored him and shot a text to someone on his phone before slipping it back into his pocket.

"Are we waiting for someone?" Tommy tried. "Are other people coming here to train?"

"Yes to your first question and yes to the second, but most of them are already here."

Just as he started to face the hero, Tommy heard footsteps coming from the behind him.

As he turned back around, he saw two figures walking towards him, one was a girl wearing a red beanie with a flower tucked behind her ear.

The other, who was clearly a hero, was wearing a mask that looked like flames dancing up his face, and a bandanna.

Tommy didn't know the girl, and from her lack of a reaction she didn't know him either, but he recognised the hero as Sapnap.

Agaric walked up to a small box on the fence and looked at Sapnap expectantly, as the man started looking through his pockets.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, Sapnap found whatever he was looking for and gave it to his friend, who swiped it over the box and waited until it beeped.

"Are we waiting for anyone else?" Sapnap asked, watching as the gate opened.

Agaric checked his phone again and then shook his head.

"No, everyone's here now." He walked through the gate, gesturing for the others to follow him.

It was a short-ish walk, going through a garden and into the building, where they passed rooms with more shit inside than anyone could every logically need. And holy fuck was there a lot of stuff.

Rooms with maps covering the walls and floors, rooms with swords and daggers and axes just hanging there, rooms with computers and trackers and other gadgets Tommy didn't know the name of, scattered over desks and boxes.

There was even what looked like an entire fucking clothes shop, and a dress up store with cloaks and masks of all shapes and sizes just lying there.

But the two heroes' leading the way didn't slow down to show off all the cool stuff they had, and only slowed down once they had reached a room closely resembling a school hall, with two more boys around his age and the face of the entire company.

The one hero everyone knew the name of, no matter how out of touch you were, with branding so simple, it was iconic.

The hero with the very intimidating, smiley mask.

The man, the myth, the legend.

 Dream.

Who was just standing there, observing them. Menacingly.

He tilted his head slightly, and then turned towards Agaric.

And then he spoke.

"Is that all of them?" He asked.

Both Agaric and Sapnap nodded, silently.

"Then you may leave." Dream waited until both had left the room, and then turned back so that he was facing the four teenagers again.

"You four have willingly volunteered to train to become hero's, correct?" He waited until they all nodded before continuing.

"Good. From this moment on, you are no longer citizens. You are hero's in training and will be treated as such by us, by the public, and by those who wish to take us hero's and the government down.

"In these walls, you are exactly who you are told you should be. You will go by the name you are given, and you will wear the uniform you are assigned. You may not disclose your name, face or any part of your identity to anyone unless you are told to.

"The mentor you will be given will tell you what to do and we expect that you do it. If not, then it is up to your mentor to punish you. Your training is also confidential. What happens during training hours, stays during training hours. And if we find anyone has breached our trust."

He paused and looked them in the eyes.

"Then chances are you won't be heard from again. Have I made myself clear?"

Dream watched as everyone nodded.

"We will now be going to the Meeting Hall, where you will have your introductions to one another, and then to the possible candidates for mentoring. After that, you will be assessed and then, if all goes well, be given your name and mentor."

He walked past Tommy and the others towards the door, where he turned to glance back at them.

"Well? What are you waiting for? Follow me."

Sorry for such a late update! I've been pretty busy with school and such, and the upcoming weeks will probably be the same. Next update might not be very soon due to exams, so I am sorry in advance for that.

I really hope you enjoyed!
