Get A Job, He Says, Unemployed

Tommy sighed, letting himself slump against the wall.

The past few days had been chaos, well timed chaos, but chaos none the less.

Something had gone down with the villains, and all apprentices had the week off, due to their inexperience on the battlefield.

So, after Ranboo had decided to adopt a child and lost his job over it, all of them had spent the week in stuffy offices, trying to convince people to pay them.

Ranboo had been to four interviews and Tommy was about to go into his second, at the only place he could think of.

Niki's Bakery.

And so he pushed himself off the wall, walked to the door, and checked his phone.

4:37.

His interview was around five, Niki had told him over the phone.

"The interview will start sometime between five and five-thirty," she had explained, "It really depends on how busy we are, but you should come around five."

No harm in being early he supposed.

He pushed the door open, only half listening to the chimes that played, and sighed at the sheer amount of people milling around. The interview was at five-thirty, then.

Darting through people with practiced ease, he managed to find a free table. It seemed familiar, but the only real difference between it and all the others was the rose in a jar that sat on the tabletop centre.

Tommy unlocked his phone and pulled up twitter.

He had plenty of time to kill after all.

So he just sat there, mindlessly scrolling through twitter until everyone had cleared out, except Niki, Tommy and someone in the back room that he couldn't see.

"Good to see you again Tommy," Niki said, wiping down the counter, "I'll just wait for Grian to finish up in the storage room, and then you can have your interview."

He frowned slightly. "Aren't you conducting my interview?"

"Unfortunately not. Something urgent came up and I have to be there. But Grian is really nice, so you don't need to worry." She explained.

He watched her finish cleaning the counter and walk out the door, offering him a wave and a small smile of encouragement.

He sat back down, slipping a hand under his hoodie to fiddle with a few feathers. He wasn't worried, nope, not at all! Just bored. Nothing else. Just bored.

And then a head popped out.

He looked pretty similar to Tommy but his eyes weren't as grey and his hair was a darker blonde. By the look of him, he also lived somewhere at least decently well off.

Nowhere hideously rich, but somewhere in the nicer parts of Lower L'Manburg. Empiras or Hermitville maybe?

He seemed pretty short, shorter than Tommy, that's for sure, but he couldn't exactly get a good read with just a head.

"Hello! You're Tommy, right?"

"Yep, that's me."

"Wonderful! If you could just follow me through to the storage room, we can start our interview!" The head popped back behind the door.

Behind the bakery was a rather pretty little room, especially for a storage room.

Half the room was just a kitchen. A counter, sink, oven with a face on it for some reason, cupboard and knife block.
