Steve McGarrett made it to the hospital with a few scratches from the shattered windshield, a concussion, and a broken leg. He didn't care about any of it. What he cared about was that his wife of three weeks had been rolled past him into surgery. There had been a doctor on her chest massaging her heart yelling at her to keep going. Steve McGarrett was scared.

Danny Williams had arrived at the hospital an hour before the McGarretts had. He had a broken arm, a concussion, and a couple of slices in his torso due to a one-armed army crawl out of his passenger's side window. Danny cared he was injured, hell Danny was angry he was injured, but seeing Bailey McGarrett rolled past him on a gurney for emergency surgery was enough to put his own feeling away and go find Steve. Danny Williams was worried.

Bailey McGarrett nee Morgan had been in and out of consciousness since she had been loaded up into the ambulance. She was disorientated, frightened, and in severe shock. She kept trying to ask where her husband was but she either kept passing out or the EMTs kept putting her oxygen mask back on her face urging her not to talk. Bailey crashed (died momentarily) in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. The EMTs were able to revive her and she was back. Unfortunately, it happen again in the ER, Bailey had regained consciousness briefly and was frantically moving about trying to find out what was going on and where her husband was. A young doctor thought it would be best to sedate her instead of trying to talk her down. That was when Bailey crashed for the second time and was rolled past her husband with a more senior doctor massaging her chest trying to get it to start again. Bailey felt nothing.

Danny was absolutely no good at sitting still when it came to the people he loved. Admittedly Steve was way worse but at the moment Danny was the one with full mobility.

"Excuse me. Where can I find Commander McGarrett? We were in the same car accident and I want to make sure the big goof is okay." Danny asked his nurse using all the charm he could muster.

"He's in Room 204, giving everyone a hard time. If you think you're feeling up to it I'll walk you to him. Hopefully, it will calm him down some." the nurse offered.

"His wife was in the car with us. I'm sure he's just worried about her and not trying to be a pain in the ass on purpose. He usually reserves that to drive me crazy." Danny sadly explained.

"Oh, dear. There was a woman brought in from a wreck who was rolled past Mr. McGarrett in the ER. That explains his current state." the nurse murmured.

Danny silently nodded and followed the nurse to Steve's room. He entered his partner's hospital room to find Steve, as the nurse had said giving his doctor and his nurses a hard time.

"Why can't you people just tell me what is going on with my wife!" Steve shouted.

Danny rushed to his best friend's side. Steve looked over and saw Danny, relief flooding him.

"Danny, thank god. Are you alright? Do you know what's going on with Vi? Nobody will tell me any damn thing?" Steve bombarded with questions.

"Other than a concussion, a couple cuts, and a broken arm I'm fine. How bout you, babe?" Danny answered trying to get Steve to focus and calm down.

"Concussion and a broken leg, otherwise physically all good. Mentally going out of my mind trying to get answers about my wife though." Steve replied pointedly.

Danny turned to the doctor and asked, "What is the current state of Mrs. McGarrett, please? The big guy is pretty distressed as you can obviously see and hear."

"As I have been trying to tell the Commander, Mrs. McGarrett is in emergency surgery and we won't know any more about her condition until it is over." The doctor replied patiently.

"Thank you. It's probably best if you beat a hasty retreat now. I'll get him calmed down." Danny suggested.

"Are you sure Mr. Williams? The Commander seems quite volatile at the moment." The doctor replied uneasily wanting to do exactly as Danny suggested.

"Of course, he's volatile at the moment his wife is in emergency surgery. Look, you just go and take care of other patients. I can handle the Super Seal and if I need help I'll call for a nurse." Danny said politely, his blue eyes conveying icy disgust.

"Alright, I'll leave you to it." The doctor agreed and quickly left the room.

"Okay now that that yutz is gone. Could you please get some pain killers for this big dope, I doubt he's taken any." Danny requested of the nurse who had brought him to Steve.

"You're right he hasn't. Sit tight sweetie, I'll be right back." The nurse replied agreeably.

"Thank you," Danny called to the nurses retreating back.

"I don't need any pain killers Danno. I need to know if I'm going to be a widower after only being a husband for three weeks." Steve said softly.

"Hey, no, no thinking like that. And yes you do need pain killers as you are in pain, don't think I can't tell. Look we won't know anything about Bailey until she gets out of surgery so will you calm down, please? She wakes up and sees you like this she'll be more worried about you than trying to get better, you know that." Danny admonished gently.

"I know. I know. I can't help it, Danny. I'm scared." Steve said.

"Wow, did our Super Seal just actually admit to a feeling like the rest of us mortals?" Danny teased.

"Of course, I have feelings Danny and right now I'm scared as hell. Why are you giving me a hard time about it?" Steve asked argumentatively.

"Cause if I don't bust your chops you'll get back inside that head of yours and that's not going to be good for anyone," Danny replied with a grin.

"Thanks, Danno," Steve replied with a small smile.

"Hey, are you guys okay?" Tani Rey asked coming in the door with Junior and Lou Grover.

"Us yeah, I mean aside from a couple of concussions and broken bones we're all good how bout you guys?" Danny asked trying to stay upbeat for Steve's sake.

"We heard what happened and rushed over as soon as we could," Junior told them.

"Not exactly the homecoming we had in mind for you two lovebirds," Lou spoke up trying to keep things light.

"No, unfortunately, that got put on hold. Have we heard anything yet?" Tani asked concerned.

"Only that my wife had to have emergency surgery. Beyond that, they don't know a damn thing." Steve complained.

"Yeah, Steve's having a hard time with that as you can tell," Danny informed the others.

"Hey, try not to worry man. Bailey's a strong woman, I am sure she will pull through and be given your ass hell in no time." Lou stated.

"Thanks, Lou," Steve replied.

"No problem buddy, now just comes the god awful part waiting.

Steve stared out the window at the lovely Hawaiian view, while the others nodded silently.
