Bailey McGarrett woke up in a cold sweat. She sat bolt upright, breathing heavily fresh from a nightmare. Or was it a nightmare? She wasn't sure. It was already fading. What she did remember was terrifying. Her husband and Danny had been in it with her, at least she thought they were. She could recall Danny yelling, and Mac yanking the wheel to the left. After that, the world spun but that was as far as she could recall. Was it a dream or was she recalling the crash that had cost her, her memories? The more she tried to recall the dream the farther it slipped away from her until all she could remember was that she had woken up frightened. Bailey looked at the alarm clock over on her husband's side of the bed. 2:00AM, it glared at her. Damn it, she should be asleep and here she was awake, terrified. Bailey slipped quietly out of bed, so as not to wake up her sleeping husband, put on her robe, and quietly went downstairs.
Bailey walked over to the sofa, clicked on the table lap, and sat down. She grabbed a photo album off the coffee table and curled up on the couch. Bailey looked down at the album she grabbed and saw it was: Grace Adventures. She smiled and opened the album. Bailey looked through the pictures trying to see if anything would spark a memory. She pulled out a photo of Grace and herself sitting, on what looked like, Grace's bed reading a book. Grace looked like she may have been sick in the photo. Bailey tilted her head to the side and closed her eyes, still holding the picture. The memories of that day flooded back. She just sat there for a moment, then did what Dr. Ghee suggested and let the memories flow. Thankfully, no migraines appeared. After a little time had passed Bailey got up with the picture still in hand, walked over to her work bag, and pulled out the memory book and a pen. She took the items back to the sofa and curled back up on it. Bailey put the photo down next to her and opened the memory book onto a fresh page, then began to write.
Adventures in Babysitting. Pt.1
I am three months on the job as a personal assistant to Five-0. You and the team are out of the office working. I am jumping between running errands for all of you, straightening up the workspaces, and entering everyone's reports onto the computer. I hear the phone ring in Detective Williams's office, generally, in the past, the answering service would answer it. But as I am now the personal assistant for the whole team, including Detective Williams, I answer the calls. I walk to his office, open the door, and answer the phone.
"Hawaii Five-0 Headquarters, Detective Williams office. Bailey Morgan, Five-0 personal assistant speaking. How may I help you?" I say in greeting.
...........
"I'm sorry to hear that, but Detective Williams is not in the office at the moment. Have you tried his cell phone?" I suggest.
..........
"He's not picking up? Oh, dear. Have you tried Grace's mother?" I ask feeling concerned.
..........
"No, I wasn't aware that she was out of town. Detective Williams did not inform me of that." I say.
...........
"I can keep trying Detective Williams if you like or perhaps it might be possible for me to come to collect Grace?" I suggest not wanting to leave a sick child at school.
...........
"Yes, of course, I'll wait," I reply patiently.
