- four days later.Finally we're done.
Our team just finished photographing some models for Vogue's September issue, and they're probably the most frustrating creatures to ever walk this earth.
Shuhua sets her camera down as our manager announces break time. I sigh and walk up to her. Today's been a little tense between us for some reason, but I won't hesitate to talk to her.
"Yuqi dearest," She says and looks at me. "Lunch?"
"We need to talk." I reply.
"Over lunch?" Shuhua and her love for food...
"Yes, over lunch."
Shuhua smiles and grabs her bag. We leave the set to go to the usual bar we eat lunch at. It's nice there, and they cook well, and it's right next to our studio. We enter, and the bartender greets us with a smile. Shuhua and I rush to our usual spot in the corner, and take a seat. We've become so familiar here that we don't even have to order anymore. They know what we want.
"So, what do you need to talk about?" Shuhua says, then pauses as she remembers something. "Who are you staying with? Is he hot?"
"Jeon Soyeon." I reply flatly. Shuhua freezes again. Her lips part slightly like she's gonna say something, but she doesn't.
"You— Wait." She says, pauses again, then looks around and back at me as I nod. "The Jeon Soyeon...? Wha— How?!"
People turn their heads, and a teenage girl points at me and yells, "Yo! That's the Weather girl!"
Yeah. I opened Twitter and now I'm being recognised from the song, because it turned out to be about me. I wave at the girl, and she waves back with a wide smile.
"The what now?" Shuhua asks, then realizes. "Hold up. Soyeon wrote— You have some explaining to do."
I sigh. "Yeah, well, Soyeon and I knew each other in high school."
Shuhua raises an eyebrow. "Knew?"
"Best friends. I had a big crush on her. Things went to shit," I say.
"If things went to shit, why is she living with you? And wrote a song about you?" Shuhua asks, then leans over. "Do you know how important you must be to her if she wrote a song about you?"
I just nod, even though I never really thought about it so deeply. "She was my supposed butler's cousin. I still like her, by the way. She teases me. She turns me on..."
"Yeah, I get it." The waiter brings our usual sandwiches. "You're in love with her."
"I also used to be friends with your girlfriend." I say. Shuhua widens her eyes. "Seo Soojin?"
She nods.
"After things went to shit she took Soyeon's side but... I knew her." I say with a shrug. Shuhua smiles, which I didn't expect.
"What was she like back then?" She asks.
"Shy, timid, a great listener," I say. Shuhua looks down with a smile. "She used to see a therapist."
"She still does," Shuhua looks up. "Dearest Ms.Lee. Five years and going strong."
"Does she still take anti-depressants?" I ask.
"No. We talked about that a while ago. She only took them for two weeks back then."
"I'm glad." I say. "Uh, Soyeon found your Instagram and yeah. The posts with Soojin and stuff..."
