KYLA'S POV
8/1/20I yawned and rested my head back I was waiting for King's slow ass to get up here so I could leave. The door opened and he walked in with a bag of what I'm hoping is not more money. I'm tired and don't want to be here any longer. I'd been working non stop and just wanted a hot shower and my bed.
"I know that's not more money." I crossed my fingers under the table, full of hope.
"You'll get extra." he waved off, I grabbed the bag and started with the small piles already made.
This time instead of leaving King sat down in his chair, opposite me. I didn't like the way he had me feeling at all.
"You friends with Jasmine?" he said referring to jazzy, who was the manager of the bar.
"We talk." I said and wondering why he was asking. Since getting her Instagram we'd been talking, it was nice to have somewhat a friend.
"How come you down here now?" he asked, well he's a little nosey isn't he? Every chance he had, he'd ask me questions.
"I just do, what's with the twenty one questions?"
"Just interested." he shrugged off like it was nothing.
"You this interested in all of your workers?" I asked which made him chuckle a little.
"Nah ion talk to any of em but you." he licked his plump lips.
"I'm done here." I said pushing the stacks over to him.
King looked at them in disbelief, probably from how quickly I'd done it.I stood to my feet and grabbed my bag, he handed over a stack. "You need a ride?" he asked.
"No thanks." I said before walking out and making my way home.

I grabbed some plates and laid out the trays of food.
These last few hours I'd spent making dinner since people were coming over and I can't stand Zara's food for another night. I grabbed some cutlery and glasses putting them out.I heard the door bell ring followed by the voice of Melissa. She's Zara's best friend, she walked over and hugged me.
"Something smells good as hell." Jaylen said as his big ass appeared from no where.
He hugged me and kissed my head. I rolled my eyes at the sight of King, this man was here for what? I was there for hours this morning, he kept bringing more and more money. I got free and now he's in my damn house.
I grabbed a plate and served myself some food. I went to eat in my room since I didn't the feel like socialising.

I walked downstairs and frowned at King in the living room just sitting watching tv. Looking around, no one else was here.
"Why are you in my house?" I asked as I made my way over to him.
"Nice to see you too." he said sarcastically, he was t even trying to hide the fact he was looking at my body.
"Well?"
"Jay had to drop Melissa home and I can't stand her ass so he coming back to get me after." he shrugged off.
"Where's Zara?"
"Went to see her boyfriend."
"Oh joy." I mumbled, walking into the kitchen.
"You smoke?" he asked and I nodded my head, as I turned around I noticed the blunt in his hand.
"She'll freak if you do that in here, follow me." He got up and followed me to the back yard and we sat down on the chairs that were on the patio. I could tell he was busting to talk to me, he kept looking at me.
"You have a question or something?" I asked making him smirk.
"How old are you?"
"Twenty." I said and he almost choked on the smoke.
"You a baby for real." he said shaking his head.
People always thought I was older but I've never really understood why. "What makes you think I'm older?"
"I mean...you just do." he said making me chuckle, I could tell he wanted to say more but was stopping himself.
"And you're how old?" I asked taking the blunt from him.
"About to be twenty five."
"Damn." I said more than shocked, I don't know how old I thought he was but it just sounds crazy out loud.
"So you gonna tell me why you live here now?"
"Why you so interested?" I asked handing him the blunt back.
"Ian even know Zara had a sister." he shrugged, that didn't really surprise me. I quickly learnt that no one knew I was living over here. All of Zara's friends were flabbergasted when they first saw me here.
"Nice to know I'm talked about. I moved here because my mom died." I said and I noticed his facial expression change.
"Shit..I'm sorry." he said actually sounding sincere.
"It's fine, shit happens." I shrugged, I'd had plenty of time to come to terms without.
"Y'all got the same mom?" he asked and I nodded my head.
"You thinking it's weird she never mentioned it right?"
"Yeah I guess." he shrugged slightly.
"What about you?"
"Guess you could say I'm a family man, my folks don't live far from here." he said.
"You got kids?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Nah not yet." he said, he says yet as if he's not an old man already. Let me stop because this man is too fine to be four years older than me.
"Yet? You cutting it close don't you think?"
"You funny mama." he chuckled before sinking into his seat.
We finished the blunt just in time for Jaylen's arrival back. I let him in and closed the door before the cold air got in.
"You gonna be good here by yourself?" Jaylen asked making me frown, the day he stops treating me like a kid I'll be shocked.
"Yes now go so I can go to bed." I said pointing back to the door.
The boys left out leaving me with my thoughts. I didn't know why I liked King so much but I did. I mentally cursed myself about the thought of "liking" someone. Instead of thinking anymore about it I decided to go to bed and pretended today never happened.
