TWO YEARS LATER.
OMNISCIENT.

It was a Saturday morning, the house was quiet. Well not for long, King's peaceful sleep was disrupted by Kennedy. He heard her little huffs and puffs as she tried to pull herself up onto the bed. King hoped that if he kept his eyes closed then she might just lay down and fall asleep.

But Kennedy had other plans, to wake him. She pried his eyes open before smiling widely at him. She was now two and half years old and looked just like Kyla more and more every day. But her personality resembled more of King. She wasn't a fan of people, specifically new people.

"What is it stink?" he grumbled tiredly.

"Dada I eat." she said before plopping her head on his pillow.

"Eat what?"

"Dunno." she mumbled as she turned her attention to his beard.

King knew better than to assume his daughter would go back to sleep. So he made sure she used the bathroom and brushed her teeth before taking her downstairs. He sat her on the counter before washing his hands.

"Aight baby, watchu want me to make?" he asked grabbed a frying pan.

"Pancake." she nodded.

King grabbed everything they would need, he put everything in the bowl before getting her to help. Kennedy loved to be as helpful to as possible.

"Oweos?" she asked smiling widely.

He chuckled and grabbed a pack of oreos, they were her favourite type of pancakes. It wasn't long before King had made her three mini pancakes with some fruit on the side. He made himself two pancakes with strawberries and syrup.

"Dada you're hungry?" she asked holding up her pancake.

"I got mine baby." he said before sitting down.

"Mommy has some?"

"Finish eating then we can make her some okay?"

Kennedy nodded her head and finished her food. Once she was done she pushed her stepping stall and washed her plate. She liked to have some type of independence so Kyla helped her learn how to do a few things by herself.

An hour later, Kyla was propped up in bed. She was scrolling on her phone not wanting to get up just yet. The door opened and Kennedy strolled in with King dragging his feet behind him. He looked tired but Kennedy had a big smile on her face.

"Mwornin mommy!" she gleamed.

"Morning baby, you woke daddy up?" Kyla asked and Kennedy proudly nodded her head.

"She definitely your daughter" he grumbled making her chuckle.

He set her water down on the side table and handed over her plate before getting in bed. He got as close as possible, hugging her waist. He buried his face under her shirt not wanting the sunlight to irritate him much longer.

"I make it." Kennedy said proudly, pointing to the plate of pancakes.

"Thank you baby, you helped daddy?"

"No all myself."

Kyla could feel King chuckling into her side which meant Kennedy didn't exactly do it all herself. She finished her breakfast before putting her plate down on the side table.

"No dada." Kennedy said pulling the shirt from King's head.

"She's mine little girl." he said, swatting her little chubby hands away.
