OMNISCIENT
15/12/20The sound of constant ringing caused Kyla to wake up, but it wasn't her phone that was ringing. She tapped King's arm, trying to wake him but he was a hevay sleeper so she hit him over the head with a pillow.
"Fuck." he groaned as his head popped up.
"Your phone is ringing make it stop."
King groaned and rolled over to grab his phone, he saw that it was Jaylen. He didn't have the energy to say anything but it was fine because as soon as he accepted the call Jaylen started talking away.
"Aight man...mhm." King hung up and put the phone down.
"Baby...baby." King rubbed Kyla's hips hoping she was still awake.
"What is it?"
"Zara's in labour and had been for hours. Jay wants us to be there."
Kyla sighed not knowing what to do. She knew that despite the tension King would still go over there.
He got up and flicked on the light and went into the bathroom. Kyla mentally cursed, from what King had been saying recently, Jaylen could use the support.
So she got up and started to get herself ready to go.Thirty minutes later, they arrived at the hospital King went to find Jaylen while Kyla sat in the waiting room. She didn't want to see either of them as she didn't know what to do or say in the moment. She had many conflicting feelings right about now.
The door opened and Jaylen walked in, she took a deep breath before looking up at him. It had been almost six months since she'd seen or spoken to him.
"I appreciate ya coming here." he said, Jaylen wasn't the type to feel nervous. But Kyla was everything to him, he didn't have any siblings but blood couldn't change the relationship he had with her.
"It's fine." she shrugged.
The door opened and King walked in with a bunch of snacks he'd grabbed from the vending machine. Jaylen dapped him up before walking out and going back to Zara.
"Watchu thinking?" King asked as he set beside Kyla.
"That I don't know what to do." she sighed, she grabbed a pack of sour gummy worms and ripped them open.
"Okay so what's ya mind telling you?"
"That I can't forgive her right now anyway. I still feel like she doesn't understand how much it hurt. But a part of me knows she's the only family I have really....forget that last bit I don't like her." Kyla spoke honestly making King laugh. One thing about Kyla she was going to be honest no matter what.
"I know most people would probably say she still family but I don't believe in that shit. Do whatever makes you happy." he said and she nodded agreeing with him.

Hours later, Kyla woke up from her nap. She was still in the exact same position, she was laying across two chair with her legs were over in Kings lap. He sat up and his hood pulled all the way over his face while he slept.
The door opened causing her to sit up. Jaylen walked in, surprised to see that Kyla was still here.
"She's here...you wanna come meet ya niece?"
She nodded, she stood to her feet and stretched before following Jaylen down the hall. He pushed the double doors open revealing Zara sitting up half asleep. There was a clear crib before her with baby girl in.
Kyla washed her hands before taking a seat. Jaylen scooped up the baby before laying her down in Kyla's arms. The baby was pretty small but still healthy, i this moment she didn't really resemble either parent, she just looked like a baby.
"Kyla...thank you for coming." Zara said, Kyla nodded not uttering a word.
Zara was trying to be nice, Kyla was the only family she had since everyone else was giving her the cold shoulder. Most of mother's side of the family only spoke to Kyla. This was because Zara thought she was too good for them and always had done.
Kyla loved her family and tried her best to see them as much as she could. She'd recently been thinking about taking King over to meet them. They'd been together for months now, but Kyla was anxious to introduce him as well as anxious about meeting King's family.
She'd obviously met his mother but he wanted to take her along to a family cookout meaning she would be meeting everyone.
"Congratulations." Kyla gave the baby back to Jaylen who didn't want her to leave.
"Ky please." Zara spoke her voice cracking, but the water works weren't working for Kyla.
"Please what? Hm?"
Zara sighed, "I'm sorry for everything...."
Kyla knew her sister too well, she didn't mean that sorry, she was just desperate. She walked out not feeling the need to stick around for any longer.
As she was rushing down the hall she bumped into King."Woah I was coming to find you." he said wrapping his arm around her.
"Go see the baby, I just need the bathroom quick."
King handed over her purse and went into the room while Kyla waited outside the bathroom. She didn't need the bathroom she just said that so King wouldn't ask her to go back to the room.

Now three in the morning, King and Kyla sat in his car. They'd just had McDonald's since they were both starving. Kyla slipped off her crocs and moved over the console to sit in his lap.
"Are you busy this weekend?" Kyla asked and King shook his head.
"Why?"
"My aunt has been pestering me, she wants to meet you. She was thinking about me inviting you over to dinner."
"Damn finally I was starting to think you didn't like me for real." King said making her laugh.
"I'm sorry, I was nervous. But we can go this Saturday, it will just be us, her and my uncle."
"I'm cool with that, you ready to show me off?" he smirked making her laugh once again.
"Whatever." she said before resting her head on him.
They spent a little while longer in the car before they drove home to finally get some rest.
