King sighed as he pulled into Zara's driveway. He knew this would back fire on him but he was trying to do the right thing. Jaylen had been pestering him to get Kyla to agree to meet with him aswell as Zara. Right now King thought he was helping, he knew Kyla had a lot to get off of her chest. She was currently sleeping in the passenger seat.

"Baby...baby wake up." he said rubbing her thigh.

She started to stir, as her eyes focused they set in the house in front of her. "What are we doing here?"

"Zara and Jaylen wanna see you." he sighed.

She looked at him in disbelief, Kyla didn't want King involved. She felt disgusted by the truth and the last thing she wanted was for him to feel the same way.

"I told you not to get involved and ignore Jaylen when he does too much." she said trying to keep her cool.

"I tried aight?"

She got out not saying anything else, he did the same and knocked on the door. Jaylen opened the door and let them in, he was surprised that Kyla actually came. Nobody said anything, Kyla didn't even bother sit down. She was tired of her sister pretending like she was a Saint. She glanced over to Zara who couldn't even look at her in the face.

"Why you been ignoring me man?" Jaylen asked sounding hurt.

"Because you know exactly how I feel about Zara and here you are doing up a secret relationship as if I'm blind and can't see it. You stay treating me like a kid. And what now you feel guilty and want me to be okay with it cos you got her pregnant? And wanna make amends?

They both looked shocked that she knew Zara was pregnant but she noticed it as soon as she walked into the house. Before she even noticed Zara's bump, she noticed how much weight she'd gained.

"Ky you gotta hear us out man. I'm sorry for keeping it a secret and so is Zara. Zara already told me how bad shit was and that she sorry for leaving you. You can't forgive her?" he asked and Kyla chuckled bitterly. She knew her sister too well to know she didn't tell the truth.

"What exactly did she tell you? I'm dying to know." Kyla was more than intrigued at this point

"Kyla leave it you know I'm sorry." Zara said quickly interrupting.

"You know what is funny? People keep saying your so sorry but I haven't heard you say it once. I'm assuming Jaylen is so understanding becaue he doesn't know right?" she said and Zara looked down in shame.

"I don't know what?" Jaylen frowned now confused on what it was he didn't know.

"Why did Zara leave Compton?" Kyla asked leaning against the wall.

"Because she kept getting into it with ya moms." Jaylen said almost in a duh tone, but that wasn't truth at all.

Kyla looked at Zara who couldn't look at anyone. "The day before Zara upped and left, my moms boyfriend tried to attack her. She'd been fucking him and threatened to tell my mom he had been assaulting her. One day, it only us in the house I woke to hearing her scream. And what did I do Zara?" Kyla spoke very calmly. She'd improved on her anger and was trying her best to keep it that way.

Silence fell so Kyla repeated herself once more. Kyla wasn't the type to back down, especially when it came to Zara. She was tired of all the secrets and wanted to feel the weight behind lifted from her shoulders.

"You killed him." Zara mumbled just loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

"What?!" Jaylen frowned, King stood to the wide trying his best to keep a neutral face.

"The next day I woke up and she was gone. All her stuff was packed up. It didn't make sense to me, you know that my mom brings back these dudes all the time so you leave you sixteen year old sister to fend for herself is what you think is best. I went home scared for my fucking life, scared of what these dudes would do to me. But it's all fine because four years later she brought me out here right? It makes up for the fact she left me in a crack house full of junkies and perverted men right?!" Kyla yelled with pure hurt and pain in her voice. Whenever she spoke about the events she felt like she was partially reliving them.

King kept quiet but was listening to everything. This whole conversation was just making his dislike for Zara to grow into hate and disgust.

"Why you never said nothing like that Zara?" Jaylen mumbled, he didn't want to believe it. But the pain in Kyla's voice was all he needed for confirmation.

"I was mad at myself." Zara said finally speaking up

Jaylen ran his hands down his face. "Ky she brought you out here, she fucked uo ans she knows that. Y'all
can't stay mad forever."

"She left me! I had men coming into my room and do things that nobody should fucking experience! So don't you fucking dare tell me I don't have a right. Yeah she brought me over here but it was only because she said she'd give me a place to stay if I kept my mouth shut."

"You fucking for real?!" King spat his patience was wearing thin, Zara had spun everyone a bunch of lies.

Jaylen was taken back by King's anger, he was friends with Kyla yeah. But to be this angry?

"Anything I wanted I brought for myself I even had to fly myself out here. So realistically all she did was move me in because of the guilt she was feeling. That's why I'm fucking mad Jaylen! You're too fucking blind to see all of this. She's lied to you for years about why she left and where I was." she said feeling tears blur her eyes.

"Ky I'm so sorry." Zara said trying to touch her arm.

"Don't fucking touch me son. You're all tearful and shit now cos you got caught out! Fuck you bro. You left me and that's that. You best thank God you're pregnant cos I swear on my mother I'd buss a cap in your fucking ass!"

She stormed out of the house, Kyla had been doing really well with her anger up until this point. But she was proud of herself for not laying hands on her. She'd been trying to stop using violence as the first resort in solving problems. She ignored King trying to call her back. She just kept walking and walking until the sound of his voice disappeared.
