Morning came quicker than expected but when you wake just a couple hours before you should, the amount of time you had to sleep feels too little. It essentially breaks the cycle so it feels as less hours. I wanted to confront my brothers about last night, well technically this morning but I had a feeling it wasn't as simple as it looks. Something at the back of my mind keeps telling me that their nightly outings must go deeper than simple partying and I did not want to sell myself out that I saw them. It would take away the little freedom that I was given here.
We were told to ready and gather by the front in half an hour. Today's destination will be a few monuments by the parks and then a field study of sorts in various areas and landforms. Changing into a t-shirt and jeans, I stuffed a slice of bread and jam into my mouth and headed with my friends to the assembly location. Once again, instead of going with my class I was pulled to my brothers' class. My friends came with me so it wasn't too boring though I definitely preferred to sit among those my age. My brothers' friends were weird in a way that I can't exactly pinpoint. It's just their aura were definitely not giving school child vibes.
The morning went without a hitch and I found myself taking notes on quite a few monuments. They all had interesting backgrounds but their was this turtle one that stood out. It was erected to commemorate the opening of the first marine conservation attempts of the country aimed at preserving our aquatic life, especially the turtles that were drastically decreasing. I had known a bit about this because of some reading and it was interesting to learn more about it.
We stopped at a nearby park for lunch and a quick break from exploring. My brothers left the three of us to eat and talk and went away to the other side of the park. I couldn't see them and I'm sure they couldn't see us which was new. Why did they leave us alone? I'm not complaining but its unusual of them since they were jerks. I didn't give it much thought and eventually forgot about it until they returned just over thirty minutes later. We had the entire of the break to gossip freely and my friends did not give up that opportunity to ask about the only boy that caught my eye. Luckily, I had enough time to will away the pink from my cheeks before I was thrown into the deep end by my brothers' questions.
