Her Brothers

Chapter 3

Sapphire's P.O.V

The door opened easily and I entered my maths class. The minute I stepped through the door, all eyes moved to me and the class went quiet. I suddenly felt small compared to everyone because I was the only freshman in this class. Everyone was older. Just as I was about to ask what they were staring at someone else beat me to it "Something wrong!" A voice bellowed. I looked in the direction to see my brother's furious face. There was a series of no's and never's from the class and my brother continued "then stop staring and get your ass back to work!".

They did as they were told and I looked at my brother trying to silently thank him but he just put on his normal emotionless face and beckoned me over. I don't know what my brothers problems are. They all keep this face on when there in public and I never understood why. It's like they want everyone to be scared of them and think they're cold blooded creatures because that sure as hell is what I think. They just go around yelling at people and the only time they change their cold demeanor is when we're at home and they are in a good mood. Other than that even at home most of the time there harsh and treat me like an outsider instead of their sister. There are many times I felt like they were keeping secrets from me and I get very angry.

I saw a hand wave infront of my face and I came back to reality. I looked and saw my brother motioning for me to sit in the seat next to him. I didn't even realize I was already at his side.

I took the offer and saw that the girl infront of me was glaring at me. "Don't worry about her she's just pissed because your brother sent her out of the seat so that you can sit. She's a ass really so don't feel bad." I looked to see who talked and saw Anand's friend Jack Singh sitting on his other side. Jack visits the house often so I know him. "Ok" I said.

Just then a teacher walked in and we stopped talking. He went to his desk and Anand whispered"he is Mr. Whan our Maths teacher" I nodded in understanding as the teacher was preparing his lesson. "You feel like a big girl now huh. You in advanced class so you don't need to answer me verbally anymore?" I turned to Anand shocked "seriously, shh the lesson is going to start" I answered back. " Look what happens when you give me attitude" he wispered. I rolled my eyes and he smirked at me. Mr. Whan had started his lesson and Anand put his hand up to get the teachers attention. I looked at him confused but he just smirked. When the teacher finally saw his hand he stood up and said "sir, I believe you forgot to introduce the new girl." I stared daggers at him.  So this is his revenge? The bastard knows I hate being the center of attention. Oh he's gonna pay for this!
"Oh, yes sorry. Miss Layson please stand and introduce yourself to the class."
Every eyes in the room turned to me and I could feel my cheeks burning. Lord help him when I'm done.
I stood "umm hi" I said.
"Miss Layson that will not do. If you're in my class you speak confidently and stand tall. Let's try that again." Mr. Whan said.
Everyone snickered and my brother looked satisfied."babyyy" he mumbled. That somewhat gave me energy. I stood taller and said" hello guys, my name is Sapphire Layson and I'm fourteen years old. I'm in this class because I'm doing advanced maths. I probably know most of you thanks to my brothers. That over there is my lame ass excuse of a brother. He is crazy and yes I may be a baby Anand but if I am then you sure as hell are a fetus." I ended my rant and sat down. Everyone was staring at me even Mr. Whan. Their mouths were hanging open and I felt satisfied. I looked at my brother and he had that same shocked expression as the class. I smirked at him and his expression turned angry knowing that his plan backfired. I laughed and then suddenly the room burst into loud applause. Even Mr. Whan was clapping. Shortly after everyone started to go back to the lesson.
Anand's favourite subject is maths so I wasn't surprised he was actually paying attention to the teacher and not to how he will kill me.
The rest of the lesson went by peacefully.
As soon as the bell rang signalling the end of class, Anand left without saying anything to me. So they were serious I guess I have to find geography myself. I packed up my things and left maths. I wished I had my phone I would have asked Vince for directions. I walked along corridors  hoping I would get to the class. I was so deep in thought that I didn't realize their was a wall infront of me until I walked into it. Damn I must look stupid."Watch where you are going!" The wall barked. Wait am I hearing things did the freaking wall just talk! Oh I must be tired but I only went to one subject how? I zoned in to earth back when I felt heavy arms lifted me and put me to the side. I looked up confused to see a boy smirking at me. He was hot. "Next time watch where you are going , got it?"
"Yeah, sorry I thought you were a wall"
He chuckled.
"So you wanted to walk into a wall?"
" No I'm just lost" I felt a blush creep up to my cheek"sorry"
He nodded and left. So that's it? He won't even help me get to class. Wow these people.
"What are you talking to a boy about? Why did you blush? Two hours hasn't  even finish and you already broke  two rules!" I heard a fuming Justin as he headed to where I was standing"damn that's a record just wait till Tony hears about this!" He yelled. No one dared to look in our direction but I still felt embarrassed.
I didn't even do anything. Tears welled up in my eyes and I responded"I was just trying to find my class. I got lost and accidentally bumped into him. What was the second rule I broke?" I wiped the few tears that made their way out. I don't get my brothers. They are a bunch of dic*heads. I don't get why they treat me like this. "You skipped class"His face softened for a second before turning emotionless again "you had no right to talk to him!" "Sorry" I mumbled.
He asked what subject I had next and when I told him he took me to class. He left me at the door and told me to find him by the lockers after break and he would take me to my next class. I entered my geography class and saw that the teacher was already there. I was late on my first day. She was understanding since it was the first day and told me to sit. Like ten minutes in the class the door burst open and guess who came in. The same boy who I bumped into. He didn't greet anyone and he scanned the class I'm assuming to look for a seat. There were two empty one. One next to me and one to the back of the class. I was hoping he'd choose the one to the back because I don't want my brothers to kill him.
He walked right to the seat next to me and sat. I turned to look outside the window to my left so I can ignore him if he talks. "Don't look away from me babe." He said with a smirk. I ignored him and he asked me my name. I told him and he continued to ask questions till I got tired so I turned to him"will you shut up? I'm trying to learn here not answer a detective." I snapped.
He looked taken aback like he wasn't used to people talking back to him. I didn't care but his face changed into a smirk. "You're fiesty. You know  many girls would die for me to be with them so I'm not gonna take no for an answer sweetheart." I was shocked. Sure he was cute but I just met him. I turned to him"I don't care about what you'll take as an answer. I said to leave me alone because I'm not  every girl and I have standards so I suggest you stop unless you want a taste of my brothers."
He chuckled. He CHUCKLED. Through laughs he asked"is that supposed to be scary?" I rolled my eyes and decided to ignore him for the rest of the class.
As soon as the bell rang I left and started to walk towards the lockers. I wasn't going to tell on him because he'll get killed literally and I don't want to be responsible for a death. Suddenly I felt someone pushed me a bit harshly into a nearby classroom and locked the door. I stared to panic until I saw who my kinapper was. That boy again. I turned towards him
"Is this the best you can do? Lock me in an empty classroom." Damn since when did I get so brave? I live in a house with six boys I must have grown some balls by now. Not literally ugh u know what I mean. He replied
"Nope. But someone's sassy"
"What the hell do you want?" I asked
"You"
"Be fuc*en serious"
"I am"
" Well I'm leaving" I started to walk towards the door but he stood in front of me.
"Get out of my way"
"No"
"You're pissing me off" I growled
He started to walk towards me and I backed up. We continued like this until my back hit something hard. Oh is this how I die. I couldn't go back any more but he kept waking forward. I tried to move to the side but he placed both arms on the wall besides my head. I asked again what he wanted and he gave the same answer. This time I went to slap him but his reflexes were good and he caught my arm. I was totally trapped.
"You're cute" he said
"And you're not" I snapped. I knew it was a lie. His blue eyes were boring into mine and then he said"you sure you mean that babe?" Ok can he read minds?
"I do now leave me the fu*k alone." I said. " say I'm cute because that's the truth" he repeated his question over and over. I kept saying no and then when he least expected it I kicked him. He let go of my arms and I went to the door. I felt arms hold me and pull me back into him. He wispered in my ear "your a good fighter. Only you managed to deflect my reflexes and they're supposed to be great" I pulled away from him and looked at him smirking."You caught me in the balls" I couldn't help but smirk at his last line"that should teach you a lesson" I said and walked towards the door. He didn't stop me and I left walking towards the locker. I hope im not late. I saw Justin waiting there. He was on his phone. I went up to him. "You took long" he said.
I acted casual and said I was in the washroom. He bought it and took me to my next class. Tina was in this class with me. I also made a new friend Lina Vaise. She was cute. The rest of the morning went by really well. Lunch came and we sat together at a table. My brothers and their friends sat at another table way opposite us. We talked and laughed. Lina was cool. As she was explaining herself to us she froze in the middle of talking and looked behind me. She looked like she saw a ghost.  I turned around to see my brothers walking towards us. They came to me and I could tell they were pissed. Wonder what I did now? The called me and pointed in the hall. I told my friends bye and followed them. As soon as we were out of ear shot the started."Why did you still talk to him even though I warned you?
"You broke the rule knowingly"
"You'll have to face the consequences"
"What are you talking about!" I yelled
" Don't play smart, you were talking to Drake Hunter for God's sake!" Justin yelled.
" Who is that " I asked.
" Look don't think we are mad their were people who saw you talking to Drake in geography this morning   and reported to us" James continued.
" Oh so what was I supposed to do if someone sat next to me and talked huh! Can't I have friends?"
"You can have friends just not boys!" Anand said.
"Especially not Drake. He has a terrible reputation" James said.
"Who is reporting to you anyway?" I asked.
"That's for us to know not you"
I yelled "oh please!"at them and stormed into the canteen to my friends. I told them I'm ready to leave and the obeyed not asking anything. I love my friends. They respect my feelings. We headed off to class but stopped at the washroom so that I can wipe my face because I was crying.
